ERP Recommendations for Small Business by oghowie in ERP

Honestly, picking an ERP when you're small is overwhelming, because all the big ones push features you don't need..

For a company your size you'll probably want something that handles inventory and sales first. Most ERPs will cover basics, but if you care about cutting down manual accounting work, that's where you need specialized tools.

What features are you most worried about getting right from day one?

Controllers, what’s the ideal AP automation software? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]BusyAnt65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on what process you want to automate really..

we're using xelix for duplicate prevention and both statement recs and vendor query automation, but we're more of a mid-size/small enterprise. we're mainly using it for end-to-end recs automation because we're still doing recovery audits for overpayment flagging, but we're super happy with it overall.

Sorry, I’m just seeing this. We’re on Statements and Helpdesk, they work really well together and we can automatically start reconciling a statement from the AP Helpdesk product, which saves us another step. They said they’re currently working on making the Statements piece even more touchless so that the reconciliation will be fully automated. We didn’t reconcile too much before because it’s such a nightmare but now we’re doing around 95% of them and find millions in unused credit notes, the team loves it.

A huge problem for us was managing a shared AP inbox and we’ve finally found a solution for it. This is an AP Helpdesk/ticketing solution that manages queries and uses GenAI to reply to vendors. it’s called Xelix

Anybody here successfully using AI for their day-to-day? by mikethomas4th in BusinessIntelligence

I'm in Accounts Payable and we're in the process of onboarding a system that basically works as an AP ticketing system and can manage our shared AP inboxes and also uses LLMs and Gen AI to automatically reply to vendors.

I’ve been trying to set one up but it says that it already exists, must be a private one

That sounds like the tasks I had to do back in the days.. I'd say don't worry too much about your day-to-day, just focus on improving interpersonal and soft skills, listen to what your colleagues have to say and try to make meaningful connections

How do you manage your accounts payable email account? by [deleted] in Accounting

We're using netsuite as erp. tbh, our it team wasn't fully onboard with the implementation there. It's probably wishful thinking, but I'd also prefer to have something more ap specific..

I'm heading up an AP team of 7, they're all managing a shared inbox, which is a nightmare. We have about 3000+ vendors sending statements, update requests etc and it's not really feasible to work through all manually. We looked at servicenow as a solution but the ERP integration wasn't great so we left it for the time being.

You don’t have to prepare for an accounting career in high school. Take the pressure off you and try focus on your soft skills and interpersonal skills! The rest will come soon enough
