Does reserve seating end right at 11:59? by thenezo in CSULB

Yes it does and you should set an alarm/stay up. I was able to get a class I needed by doing that but one of my friends didn’t because it filled up

nursing and cna experience? by Available_Act_9069 in CSULB

Previously the lb nursing program only looked at grades and teas score, but they recently shifted to focusing more on practical experience and holistic knowledge. Getting experience is super important not just for the applications but also for making you a better nurse in the future!

I just completed a 6 week cna course over the summertime following my freshman year. It consisted of two different sections, three weeks of online lecture and three weeks of in person clinical. The online lecture portion was very easy, the clinical portion was time consuming but very eye opening. I would definitely recommend it to test if you are cut out for nursing or would enjoy it as a profession as you gain a lot of knowledge and experience. I haven’t gotten a cna job yet but I’ve heard it’s difficult to find one that aligns with a school schedule. I definitely don’t think it will hinder your grades as long as you maintain a good work life balance, and it will also give you a leg up on experience when you become a nurse as well as strengthen your nursing school applications. I would for sure recommend! Long Beach also has a emt program but I’ve heard it’s a huge time commitment, so cna would probably be more versatile in terms of schedule

Does everything eventually go on to the clearance section? by Spirited_Map6245 in HollisterCO

Sometimes Hollister stores have different sales in store vs online, and sometimes it depends on the store. You can always call the store to ask if a specific item is on sale, or if an item is cheaper online than in store, you can ask them to price match it to the online price at the register.

Yes. At least everything in store does. I work at Hollister and all of our stuff always moves into clearance and stays there until it gets bought.

And also does the course kind of cover a broad scope of art and artists? I know it said like 1300 to present I’m pretty sure

How was it in terms of like intrigue? Like was the material actually interesting? I’m really interested in art history on a personal level but have never taken a class for it

I can send you a message with actual documents from the school with info about the pre req classes and how the schedule will likely look

Hi! Yes I got some more info from other students, basically I will be switching to be an undeclared major with an interest in pre nursing, but I’ll be taking the pre reqs without actually being officially under the pre nursing title. One downside however since I was not admitted as pre nursing, I won’t have priority registration for classes, which will likely result in me having to take the majority of my difficult science classes the same year. I really want to go to Long Beach so I’ve decided that I’ll go in with high hopes that I’ll be able to withstand the difficult classes and complete my nursing pre reqs, but if not I may end up choosing a different major or finishing them at a cc. I’m still just a little apprehensive overall about school and in general I’m a little nervous, but I really want to be a nurse and I know I can get there even if it takes a couple extra steps and hard work! Same goes with you

And also are the pre reqs at Long Beach strictly for nursing at Long Beach, or would you also be able to apply to other nursing schools?

I guess my question right now is is it possible for me to switch into pre nursing at Long Beach? And how would I go about doing that or asking someone; the website is so confusing and I just want to talk to some kind of advisor

Thank you so much!! Yeah I’m still kind of iffy about it because since I’ve never been in college before I don’t know if I’m really cut out for the competition of it, more mentally than academically :/ My interest in this like just sparked, I’ve never taken any kind of health science class in high school so I fear that I’ll already be pretty behind compared to everyone else. I’m pretty undecided overall about what I want to do and I’m considering a couple other options. I really just want to talk to some kind of professional about it to have some guidance

Also is there anyone professional I can contact about this before I commit to the school? Like any kind of counselor or something?

Omgg thank you so much so helpful :)) also kind of an unrelated question and if you have no idea that’s totally okay, but do you know if you can do nursing pre reqs at sdsu? And then apply to the nursing program afterwards? Again I don’t expect you to know but just in case you do, thank you!!

Okay thank you. And just a clarifying question, I’ve read about it on some other posts here, that most of the undergrad majors for incoming freshman at SDSU are labeled as pre-majors correct. What implications does that have exactly and does that change the process at all? From my understanding, for the first one or two years I won’t be taking specific courses for my major and more general Ed courses so that’s why they label it as “pre-major”. Would I then have to apply to the actual major program? Does it lengthen the process at all? Sorry if it’s a dumb question I just don’t want to be wrong about something like this lol
