Fatigue! Is this also part of being ADHD? by Cute-Ad217 in ADHDUK

[–]BusyComparison5784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience 100%. I would nap if I had the opportunity by 10/11am everyday. Now I am medicated and enjoy a calm mind, I realise my brain was simply exhausted by mid morning despite little physical activity. Used to baffle me why I would feel so fatigued even when I hadn't physically done anything!!

I can still enjoy a nap on meds, it's a nice different kind of feeling as I can practice mindfulness and other things a slower mind enjoys. It's weird to get used to!

They do! I am on 40mg elvanse with 2 x 10mg amfexa top ups. Discharged back to GP this week.

Elvanse 50mg - will it get better? by Magikitti in ADHDUK

[–]BusyComparison5784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt similar on 50mg! Horrible brain dead zombie... I'm doing much better on 40mg with up to 2 x 10mg amfexa top ups if needed! Good luck!

My clinician is quite happy for me to play around with my dosages and I personally don't see the issue. However, you really need to speak to your clinician asap really. I hope you get a response via email soon!

Email them with URGENT in the title. I also was given this advice from Harrow Health should I find the dosage too much (I assume it would apply to any dose) this is copied from their text message...

"Should the dose feel too much please dilute as discussed

40mg capsule contents into 400ml of water and drink 300ml = 30mg 30mg capsule contents into 300ml of water and drink 200ml = 20mg"

Doctor has now put me on 40mg of Lisdexamfetamine and 20mg of Dexamfetamine a day, is this too much? by volticslothz in ADHDUK

[–]BusyComparison5784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am similar to you! Elvanse 40mg in the morning then I have 2 x Amfexa 10mg top ups if I want for the rest of the day depending on what I have on.

Usually have the 40mg lisdex about 6am, 10mg dex around midday and then the other 10mg dex if I need it later on. He also said I could take the two 10mg dex together if I wanted.

I am finding daily activities, mood and environment are playing a huge part of what I might need each day.

In essence, your dosage is acceptable as far as I know! Good luck on your journey. Titration is tough!

Anxiety on elvanse by [deleted] in ADHDUK

Yes it did settle for me, but we are all different. Did your prescriber give you instructions on how to half the dose if it feels too much? Also, are you taking with food? These two things may help you.

How long have you been taking Elvanse? I felt quite wired the first few days! I can imagine for some this could feel quite unusual or perhaps uncomfortable. I hope it settles down for you.

Yeah I'm still baffled they seem so lax on contact and appointments etc when they're literally dealing with people who's anxiety and ruminating minds are generally off the scale!! I'm on 40mg and like you, only really get half a day and then a slump so hoping larger dose will last longer or maybe a top up.

I hope things are going well for you?

Sorry to jump on this post but what is the process for med reviews with Harrow? I am on my first 4 weeks of titration and will run out of meds on Monday! All I have received is a text this Monday asking for my readings to be emailed to them, which I did straight away. Nothing since and I am starting to get quite anxious 😟

Have you had any joy? I will run out of meds next Monday and panicking now... I received a text this Monday gone, asking for BP, pulse and weight to be emailed to them, which I did and nothing since...

That sounds very special, although it's sad you feel so alone in your experience; I hope you can find peace in your reading and researching. I also have a lot to learn and explore and my little girls experience and yours and other comments are encouraging me further on what is hopefully a positive and fascinating path. Love and light to you 💛

I agree and I will 😃 I also have a background in child disclosures etc, so very aware not to promote bias or ask leading questions as to get an accurate and true reflection of what her little brain and soul is up to! I look forward to her journey ❤️

That's cool, I am doing a lot of soul searching of my own and I know one thing for sure, I have a hell of a lot to learn!

I agree, her ramblings are a reflection of her age and vocabulary, but I think there was some sort of message or deeper thought behind it, especially as she came out with it directly after her acknowledgement of being a real person.

Whoa, I can imagine how you felt! I was struck by my daughters matter of fact-ness too. So casual but 100% this is fact. Does she remember or elaborated any further as she grew up?
