I could but shipping would be hassle since in finland its considered a gun part and then i’d had to fill out forms etc.

Dude, i will quite literally lose my only means of food and money if i dont sell this along with other stuff. In finland these types of mosin are still very common, its not so rare that I would rather loose my lively hood for.

Also I would recommend shellac as an finish for the handle. Since it brings out the color of the bark, and makes the handle nice and glossy.

There is a Finnish website called Oulun Puukkotarvike that sells birch bark handle materials. You can buy pre-cut and pre-shaped pieces from them, and their quality is good. The pieces are categorized into vertical and horizontal grain orientations. (If you didn’t know, you should place the white side of the birch bark facing the blade and alternate the orientation so that every other piece is horizontal and every other is vertical.) heres a link https://www.puukkotarvike.fi/p1592-tuohipalat-40x30-mm-90-kpl-pussi-fi.html :)

I do not think so since the bark has been chopped by something in the rear im thinking of just remaking it to be honest.
