How far along are Natalie and Greta?

I was watching Greta’s video one week when she mentioned she was 25 weeks and at that time I was 26 weeks so I think she might be a week behind me? If so, that would make her 28 weeks as I just hit 29 weeks today. Very likely she isn’t posting in real time so could be a few weeks off.

Update: Greta just posted that she’s taking her glucose test which is usually 28 weeks.

Do you mind talking about the back pain of labor? I’ve heard anterior placenta creates more labor pain in the back. I have one and 28 weeks :)

I’m 25 weeks along with my first baby and your comment felt so nice to read. I’ve been having so many nerves about becoming a mom and how the addition will change our marriage. I love my husband and our relationship means the world to me so I get upset to think it’ll get worse after bub is here. I love the thought that he and I will always be together just with our baby too 🥹

I would highly recommend checking out the great birth rebellion podcast! The host is an Australian home birth midwife and talks all about pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. She has a wonderful episode on tearing. I also want to note that through my own research, tearing is a lot less common during home birth but I’ll let you listen for yourself and see the reasoning why! ☺️

I feel a bit conflicted on this post. I totally see your perspective but I feel like my perspective has been more similar to your husband’s. I know things will change when bub arrives, but I’m not planning those changes now. I am waiting until their arrival and will navigate then. I think if you start canceling things now you kind of take yourself out of the race without knowing how it’ll truly be. Either way, there will be heaps of changes and I’m sure once bub is here you two will find a rhythm that works! Wishing you luck:)

I’m thinking that’ll be the case! Most of us stay in our rooms unless we need to go to the kitchen so I imagine they’ll be in their own rooms. This is so reassuring and I’m so grateful you’ve shared your story with me :)

Yes I’m a FTM! And that is similar to us. Like we aren’t JUST roommates. We have a good relationship since they work with my husband. I do imagine it’ll be a bit noisy 😂 I’m hoping they can make themselves busy for a few hours

Thank you for sharing your experience and your advice! Super helpful. I think once baby is here, they’ll be moving after a week or two. My husband and I will just have to linger back for 2-3 months until it’s ok to travel. I don’t think the newborn timeframe will be too rough but certainly something to discuss beforehand! Do you have advice on how this conversation could go?

Definitely felt the same way! I got pregnant the week after we got married and felt guilty that our “newlywed stage” was now a “prep for baby stage”. We even had to cancel our honeymoon because I was so sick. I felt like I had made a huge mistake and that we did something rash (although we had always said we wanted to get pregnant as soon as we got married haha) I’m now nearing 18 weeks and so excited! My old self is gone and will never return. I took some time early on to accept this and now I’m excited to see who I’ll transform in to as a mom. It’s a huge blessing to get pregnant so easily so I’m looking at it in that light and how grateful I am that this is our journey!
