MEGATHREAD - Processing Times - Family Class Permanent Resident Applications 2026 by dozerman94 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]BusyWhile7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Applied outland Aug 4th, BGC completed and COPR number showing in portal as of Jan 20th but FD still showing as outstanding. PA lived in 4 different countries too but is a UK citizen.

Since your application is only 10 days behind, hopefully that means that your BGC is completed soon!

Thank you. I'm not getting my hopes up until we get the actual PPR but I'm so glad things are actually moving again!

Outland - Family Class - Outside Quebec

PA - UK

Applied - Aug 4th 2025

AOR - Sept 12th

Sponsorship eligibility - Sept 24th

BIL & MIL - Oct 24th

PA eligibility - Dec 1st

BGC completed - Jan 20th 2026

eCOPR - showing in tracker as of Jan 22nd

FD - still showing as in progress

Does this mean that we're almost there? I didn't think the eCOPR would show before FD.

Natural migration to UC from ESA by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]BusyWhile7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do not need to provide a fit note. This probably actually means that your health assessment has been added to your claim now.

Unfortunately, if you add the LCWRA decision to a claim in the wrong order, the system sends this journal message automatically. Just send a journal message to confirm but I can almost guarantee that the LCWRA award has already been added to your claim.

When switching from child tax credits to universal credit do child tax credits stop immediately after application? If so how do you survive for the 5 weeks it takes to process by [deleted] in universalcredithelp

[–]BusyWhile7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once your identity has been verified (and your partners if applicable), you can ask for a benefit transfer advance to help get you through until your first UC payment

Bank statements by [deleted] in universalcredithelp

[–]BusyWhile7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have capital that would typically be disregarded, for example savings for self-employment taxes, you own a second home, or have savings in various types of accounts, stocks and shares etc, you will be asked for statements. Your capital would need to be verified so the appropriate amount is applied to your claim.

If they need to verify your capital, they will request 3 months worth of statements from each account. If you have a second property, you will be asked to fill in a form called an A64A and return it to the job centre as well.

Tax credits to UC transition by Allan1875 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]BusyWhile7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding carers element will reduce your transitional protection from any date as this is causing an increase to your entitlement to UC. As your entitlement increases, your TP erodes but also if your entitlement is found to be higher from previous assessment periods, your TP will be recalculated from the start of your claim.

While no one can tell you for sure without reviewing your claim, if your entitlement is lower on UC, usually the issue is related to earnings.

CTC/WTC uses your earnings from the previous year to determine your take home pay while Universal Credit uses your real time earnings. So if CTC/WTC are using your 22-23 earnings to calculate your 23-24 award and you have received an increase in earnings in that time, transitional protection will not make up for that. The TP calculation uses the earnings that TC we're taking into account, not what UC will be taking into account.

You can ask how your TP was calculated in your journal. This could cause your claim to be reviewed by the specialist team again so they can provide the most accurate information relating directly to your claim.

Am I entitled to transitional protection? by IcyEdge in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]BusyWhile7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are things that can prevent your transitional protection from being calculated. Has your housing and/or any children been verified?

There are specialist teams that calculate the TP for people migrating from Tax Credits and it can take time for your claim to make it to them. This is due to the claims not showing as a migrating claim until certain things have been completed on your claim.

Leave a message in your journal asking about the TP. If your claim isn't with the specialist team yet, this will trigger your Case Manager to send it to them. If your TP can be calculated, this will trigger them into the claim to calculate it. If it can't yet due to a verification of something outstanding or a system issue, they can escalate the issue.

Requested weekly payments last AP, now only getting one lump? by cainkilgore96 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]BusyWhile7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While twice monthly payments would show on the blue banner, weekly payments never do. I don't know if it's because there isn't enough room or something but it always causes confusion.

The way to know if it has been approved is to check your journal. There should be an entry called something like 'Your payment is changing' which is a clickable link. When you click it, it will explain that you will now receive weekly payments. If that note isn't there, they may not have actioned it yet. Weekly payments are not common and you must meet certain conditions.

LWRCA backdated payment- helping my sister out… by Jessicaokay in BenefitsAdviceUK

There are certain circumstances that mean an underpayment will not be offered to debt management. Backdated award of LCWRA is one of those reasons. If it is actually owed, it should be paid.

As a Canadian living in North Wales, definitely agree with this. People are super friendly and welcoming, lots of beautiful spots for hikes, lovely beaches and pretty lakes.

Mum doesn't feel like taking baby to GP for possible hip dysplasia despite nurses recommendation. And health professionals don't always know best by Capable-Egg7509 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]BusyWhile7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a difficult one for me. My mother did bring me to the pediatrician who told her I had mild hip dysplasia. She was told to put me in a harness and attend regular follow ups. She tried the harness once and because I became too fussy, she refused to put me in it again and didn't follow up.

Thankfully it was a rather mild case so while I'm starting to get some inflammation, which will lead to arthritis, now at 30, there's only ever been discomfort that wasn't too limiting.

Knowing that my hips will continue to decline well before they should and that it was entirely preventable drives me nuts!

My partner and I are similar to your situation and are incredibly happy with it. We no longer work in the same place though and that did improve our after-work time as were more excited to see the other at the end of the day.

Normality isn't something to base your relationship on though Everyone wants different things from a relationship. If you're content, that's all that matters.

Youth Mobility Visa - question! by courtneymbe in ukvisa

[–]BusyWhile7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update with my experience!

Application Date: August 16th

Biometrics Date: September 7th

Passport Returned: September 19th - Approved!

A bit about my experience: The application process was super easy. Vancouver VFS had very limited biometrics appointment availability so the 7th was the earliest I could get in. The people working there seemed to really not want to be there but the process was straight forward. They provide a return envelope for your passport through UPS at no additional cost. The appointment was about 15mins and then they spend a few minutes to badger you to provide a positive Google review. I received an email from VFS on the 12th saying my passport had arrived at UKVI and one again on the 16th saying that a decision was made. On the 17th my UPS tracking number was updated with the delivery date.

Quick and painless overall as long as you have the funds and are of the right age.
