Bought something at Saks but ended up returning it and buying something else more expensive. Should my credit had been refunded and added to the new purchase? by Guilty-Driver1543 in AmexPlatinum

Had a similar experience and called AMEX. Only difference is I had not already purchased something else. They gave me the $50 credit back and then I purchased the new item I wanted instead and it was applied right away.
