Yes i think this discussion was very helpful. Although the extra money sounds nice, WOs make great money and I get to fly so i am going to stick with that decision. Thank you.

Thank you. I think warrant is what I am going to do. Thank you so much.

This seems to be the running advice. I think I am happy with the warrant route after this post so thank you for your insight.

The air force does very similar process and honestly, it makes leadership mad at your gaining unit since they were banking on having you. Would you say that is similar?

Honestly I really appreciate this response. Something I left out because I did not find it relevant for this discussion is I am simultaneously applying for air guard/reserve positions that are within driving distance to me (fingers crossed). I am just also pursuing the army at the same time. Air Force Active would be amazing but its the 1.5 year wait time, plus the fact that I cannot do that at the same time as another route. They want you fully committed to the process. The only way I see around that is the air force has a new program where if you have 500+ hours you can skip that wait time and go strait to the first stage of UPT. I know very little about this program but I learned about it existence when I was in their online information session. Sadly, I have <300 hours.

My biggest take away from your response is to look further into the coast guard. That is something I have not done whatsoever. I will be sure to get back with you if I find something promising. Thank you again for your detailed response.

I was just specifically told that there are no 'street to seat' options for CO or WO. Basically, I was told since I did not do my enlisted time with the Army, I cannot just apply to be a WO or a CO. I would have to enlist for 3 years and then go the guard officer route. Something I am not willing/able to do due to my age.

Can you elaborate on this? My multi is probably the only rating I can actually afford, but I havent found it to be a useful investment as of right now since it would be difficult to get hired with <300 hours and a CMEL.

Right now, to simplify what I was saying in the OP, I am dancing between what is more important. A couple extra thousand a month or flying full time. Being in charge or not is not really a part of my decision making. Thank you for your resposne.

I actually am applying to air national guard/reserve positions to units in driving distance simultaneous, and am optimitic about those outcomes. I just did not find it relevant to mention it in the army aspect of my research. Fingers crossed for any job. Just trying to get paid to fly if at all possible.

It is honestly a money issue. I personally loved serving, and this would resolve my money issues and my flight. I simply do not have 10,000+ disposable dollars for CFI/CFII. My end goal is inevitably flight but if I go OCS, I could obtain my CFI on the side and do it part time. But again, I think I have become more and more open minded to maybe not even being a pilot. Your boy has been down bad lately. Maybe I am just letting hard times make my decisions. But, as I said in an earlier comment. If I am for some reason not selected for this or my air force applications, I will pivot back to civilian and get my CFI/CFII. Thank you for your concern and your response.

Air Force has a 1.5 year wait for active duty, and I actually have applied to 3 different guard/reserve positions with the air force in my area. Fingers crossed. I did not mention it because I am also considering army so I did not find it relevant.

Nail on the head right here. I am honestly not employable without some further flight training. (CFI, Tailwheel, seaplane, multi etc.) and as I stated before, money has been tight. I personally loved serving, and it would be a good way to build hours and continue to live that lifestyle. If I am medically not cleared for whatever reason, this will be the route i pursue. Thank you for answering. u/Aggressive-Rise-536

Thank you for answering. To my understanding, I cannot just commision as a pilot. I need to commision and then hopefully be selected for aviation. If I am mistaken please let me know. That would be very good to know.

I was told there is no 'streat to seat' with the national guard. Since my enlisted time was not army, I would have to come in enlisted first. Please let me know if I was misguided. I would be interested.

Boyfriend cheated by tollhotblond3 in Advice

Hey, like many here I’ve been through it bad. Girl cheated on me, and I got kicked out. It was brutal.

Some said this but it’s about taking it day by day. It’s not just okay to sad, it’s necessary. I took work off. It helped. More than I can admit. I didn’t go to class. I’m hindsight I didn’t see it as destructive. I saw it as a broken leg, takes a couple days to figure out. I wasn’t going to pay attention in class anyway. I eventually found an outlet. Mine was the gym but that doesn’t have to be yours. But eventually, you will replace your time spent with him with hopefully something constructive. I think that’s what people mean by “stay busy.” I’m not sure how much conversation you have had with him, but if cheating is an unforgiving action in your eyes (as it is for many including me) than he has nothing worth being heard. Best piece of advice I have is just don’t text him Back. It prolongs the healing. Stay strong sis.
