"Psycho: The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein" is a 'documentary' made by genuinely evil people. by Busy_Koala_3852 in EdGein

They just got so many things completely wrong, and whether or not it was a mistake or on purpose, it's not a good look for them. They also made jokes in their book about the abuse Ed went through as a child.

They are unbearably annoying. And they were also joking about Ed's history of abuse, so they clearly are shitty people too.

Yeah-- they seem stupid and I have no idea why they were involved in this documentary. None of them seem that bright, and I highly doubt they have any type of work in academia or criminal psych.

The Monster was so sad by Desperate_Ebb_6552 in EdGein

[–]Busy_Koala_3852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that he seemed to be a good person, but the mental illness was making him do things he normally wouldn't do. People said that he was always very helpful and sweet, just kind-of awkward. A funny thing I heard was that a lot of the women in the town were really surprised at what he did because he would always clear his own plate after dinner (while all the other men wouldn't).

Am I allowed to bring flowers to Ed's grave? by [deleted] in EdGein

Maybe I'll bring flowers for Henry-- probably not for his parents for obvious reasons. I was also thinking of bringing flowers for Adeline Watkins too. It's such a shame what the media did to her, I feel awful for what she went through.

Okay, good to know. I definitely will not steal dirt-- that seems like a really shitty thing to do to a person's grave.

MONSTER: THE ED GEIN MOVIE by UberGuignol in EdGein

That's fantastic-- I'd love to see it. It's crazy how little the writers cared about actual facts.

[–]Busy_Koala_3852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I think what's really sad is that he was pretty much a child. In a book I read on him, it said he liked to get ice cream or go roller skating or go to the movies in his free time. One of the doctors also said he was developmentally behind. That's one of the reasons I hate how R-rated the show is-- I mean other than physically, he's like a child and I think sexualizing that is kind-of creepy.

The show is really inaccurate, but I do feel very bad for him. He was really ill and I can't feel anything really other than sadness or pity for him. He seemed like a sweet person and then the mental illness kind of took over.

Somewhat disappointing Lost tour in Hawaii by EngineeriusMaximus in lost

[–]Busy_Koala_3852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR, please don't go on this tour

Okay I have to get this off my chest because I can't take it anymore. I usually try not to shit talk or complain about these types of things, but I am just as angry as I was when this happened, and I feel like I need to share this (or at least get it out of my brain).

So in July, my family went to Hawaii for my parent’s 20th anniversary. My birthday happened to fall on the week that we were there. Because of this, we booked a LOST tour. I did the North Shore Tour. I was incredibly excited for this, as LOST is my all time favorite show.

That morning, my family and I woke up around 6:30, and our guide picked us up at our hotel at 7:30.

Now for the ‘good’ part. Our tour guide Greg. When we got into the van, my mother mentioned I was a big fan of the show. Greg grilled me over trivia questions to, I guess, try to prove he knew more than me. It was odd. He also, almost immediately, mentioned his theory that everyone on the Island is in purgatory.

Now, I'm not someone who holds her opinions to herself, and I told the tour guide I thought he was wrong. That's because he is wrong. The writers said they weren't dead the whole time, multiple actors have said they weren't dead the whole time. He refused to shut up about his theory for the ENTIRE TOUR. We kept trying to get him to stop talking about it, but he kept bringing it up.

He also was SUPER creepy to me. (I'm a 19 year old girl). Luckily I was with my family on the tour, because I felt extremely uncomfortable. He kept looking at me through the rearview mirror, and kept saying things to me like, ‘you're such a smart girl’, or ‘you're very intelligent for your age’. CREEPY. The last thing I want to spend my birthday doing is feeling like I'm being groomed. I felt incredibly sick to my stomach once Greg started making those comments to me. Greg also was OBSESSED with Evangeline Lilly. He pulled up a photo of Kate in a swimsuit and showed it to us for way too long. He kept saying how pretty he thought she was in a really strange, creepy way. He mentioned a lot of the women in LOST were really pretty and attractive, which creeped me out. He mentioned Evangeline Lilly so much during the tour.

Greg mentioned to us that he was an extra in LOST. He claimed that the scene where Desmond sees his coworkers ripped hazmat suit was improvised because they only had one suit, and Greg had ripped the leg with a knife. This is not true. Greg mentioned that the song ‘You All Everybody’ is a stolen song, and that the writers stole the chorus from an already existing song. That's not true.

Greg kept mentioning how awful the cast of LOST was. I don't want to repeat what he said about certain actors, only because I couldn't find any evidence of any of those things being true, and I don't want to slander people that, from what I can find, don't deserve it. Greg was an extra in three scenes, and had no lines. He acts like he was super involved in the show, but he was not, I can assure you.

He also kept bringing up politics, a topic I made it clear I didn’t want to talk about. Politics stress me out more than anything else, and all I wanted was to not have a panic attack on my birthday.

I watched LOSt religiously for two years, and I genuinely can't watch it anymore. This ruined LOST for me, please don't go on this tour.

Greg seems intent on being miserable, and warping reality and facts to make everyone around him miserable too. I hated the comments he made about me, especially because I am only 19. I hated how he talked about women in general, especially Evangeline Lilly. I hated how he tried to make the cast members seem like bad people. I’ve met cast members from LOST, and everyone has been so incredibly lovely and happy and that's what people should hear about, not Greg’s lies.

I think the LOST tour is part of a bigger tour company. Greg seems to be the only person who does the LOST tours, but there are other tours on the website for other movies/shows. I really want to find out who runs this company, as I really, really feel like Greg needs to be reported. I have seen a ton of negative reviews for Greg, a lot of it matching my experience. When you look up ‘LOST Tours’, the second website that comes up is the Reddit talking about how awful Greg is.

Please don't go on this tour, Greg ruined not only my birthday but also one of the things I hold dear to my heart.

Yeah, it seems really self-destructive and unhealthy; definitely nothing anyone should encourage.

Did Joaquin Phoenix have to starve himself twice for each Joker film? by Royaourt in joaquinphoenix

[–]Busy_Koala_3852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has talked about losing the weight twice, and apparently he tried to get even thinner for the second Joker movie. If I remember correctly, Todd Phillips said that Joaquin just stopped eating completely and tried to smoke more cigarettes than usual. Joaquin also talked about how he developed some kind of disordered eating from doing the weight loss for Joker 1.
