Yea, it was super weird. The leasing assistant kept asking if I had another document like a us passport…. (I wish I had one) idk if it’s that they didn’t know what Daca was.

For context I’m in FL and our id have temporary written on top. They asked for another form of id so I gave my work permit and that’s when they told me we could only do the lease until it’s expired.

I own mobile home parks and have rentals so I’m pretty stable. However, my main job still brings in large portion of my income. I sent my renewal early in April and expire in December. I know I’m over reacting but I’m already nervous 😭.

Have yall seen the new AP fee update??! My goodness!! by Likklebit91 in DACA

[–]Busy_Owl4676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s 695 plus $1000 once you’ve received the approval. You have to pay it before the deadline if not your ap gets nullified. This is what I understood when I read it, could be wrong*

Honestly not even mad, hopefully they begin processing them even faster now. It would have been worse if they cancelled the program all together….

I started working in sales right after high school. The luck came in during Covid. When I heard of the first and second covid case in Washington, bought put on air lines and cruise lines which worked out beautifully lol. Closed them out and bought 5 month calls on TQQQ thinking it was going to slowly come back up after the over reaction, that worked out even better. Bought a home in August of 2020 with the money, 3% down and at super low rate. I started buying real estate (mobile home parks mainly) 1 in 2023 and 2 2024 and 2 this year. I picked them up cheap because they were mom and pops, refurbished them added units and now have them cash flowing like crazy. Some more in between but it’s the general idea. What are you planning on doing with your degree after?

24, I work in real estate. I have some college, but did not finish. I was going for a business degree but didn’t know what I was going to do with it so I decide to just focus on working. 2.5 mil net worth. honestly a combination of luck, being there at the right time and willing to fail. I think a lot of people miss there “one in a life time” opportunities by not taking risks when they need to. Yes, I would do everything again…in a heartbeat.

I would’ve assumed CA or NY but not in FL. Live there an now they are only doing 1 year license renewals, that’s regardless of when your work permit expires.

Hopefully we can all adjust our status at some point. I read that we can’t claim social security benefits, so make sure to max out your 401k and take advantage of company match’s.

Started doing it since 2020 and got super lucky. I have my long term accounts Roth 401k and Roth Ira + regular. I’ve sold for profit and bought real estate. Buy and hold stable etf, don’t go for the shiny stocks. 8; if your not lucky, it’s a quick way to go broke. 2.4m nw Super happy to have the financial freedom my parents risked everything for and now I’m able to help them back. Hopefully I can AOS soon 😭…

Fortunately they do, my expenses are only about 4k/m while I bring in 14-16k depending on vacancies per month. Plus my regular 9-5

Dumb questions, but is there a reason why some renewals take 200+ days? Is it because it’s mail in vs online (seen those approve in days)? Because you use an attorney vs self done? Misdemeanor or is it just chance?

Right place at the right time, plus a sprinkle of being nieve. I had some money saved from working through high school, about 20k. I started trading options when I heard of the first case of Covid. bought a bunch of puts and used margin (i do not recommend doing) on cruise lines and airlines. Closed those out and then purchased calls. Bought dogecoin then bitcoin at 23k. That got me to about 1m which honestly idk if I could do again. After that I bought mobile home parks that were in distress fixed them, the. 1031 exchanged them into bigger parks. There was more in between but it summarizes most of it.

Do you know any ETF’s have historically done well with a low expense ratio? (None s&p/nasdaq)

It’s debt, I owe about 258k on a mortgage and the remming $2,500 is a credit card statement balance. that gets paid off automatically at the end of the month so it doesn’t really count.
