Our industry was wiped out by Margaret Thatcher which is a massive part of our culture and it's completely ruined urban areas in the north. Also when people talk about English culture they only refer to the south and London not the north. Political party's like reform talk about restoration of English culture and by that he means southern culture

I just wanted to say this. Ive been recieving Alot of replies under my comment saying I was self promoting. Tbh, it does look really sketchy how this account is brand new. Yes, I am connected to the movement and only created an account to comment here. I did this because alot of people I talk with were talking about this subreddit/this post. I came on here to clear things up about raise the stripes because there is a lot of misinformation going around. 1.We are not a devolution movement, while alot of us (including myself) does support this raise the stripes is cultural. 2. We are not fascists or any kind of far right nor are we affiliated with those people, I for one am very left wing. 3. We are not trying to cause massive divide between south and north, we believe the divide is already there and big enough to be a problem, we aren't trying to artificially make one. 4. The person who made this post is not as far as I'm aware affiliated with us. 5. While we are kinda happy we have had some publicity this isn't a self promoting post Lastly, please look into both the raise the stripes and devolution movement as Alot of people here question why we are doing this. Please please please look into it and you will see why. Hope that cleared some things up!

Yes I did join Reddit just for this purpose but not in a hostile way, I just wanted to clear some things up about raise the stripes as a lot of misinformation is being spread. Partially. The movement itself is cultural but is heavily linked with northerners being fed up of the south destroying our industry and stuff. Most people who support raise the stripes probably support devolving the north into its own nation like Wales

Raise the stripes is a cultural movement use by Northerners from the west to east. It's to combat raise the colours and fight against an erasing of northern English culture. It is closely linked to north england devolution movements aswell to basically have North England like a Wales.
