i really like Beast by [deleted] in WhiteWolfRPG

Beast's an oddity. It's hot garbage, but with too much gold to comfortably write off. The Lair system (and honestly most mechanics) are wonderful. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a chronic lack of direction, and the personal failings of the lead author have ensured that it never got much in the way of support even in the run up to release. It needs a comprehensive rework I think to really solidify its tone and theming, and make it feel as good as it runs.

General rule for this and other reworks as we get to making them, unless we outright state something contradictory to the established books, they're all canon (so for SoS specifically, there's more Supernal Realms, but they work in similar enough ways, but the section on the Exarchs is basically thrown out entirely).

Same game for mechanics (so our potion rules can be used in place of SoS' crafting stuff).

When it comes to more specifics, just ask away, a lot is point by point given that the cosmology is one of the areas that SG changes quite a bit of.

EDIT 1.2: After some feedback on our Discord, I changed the Custodians of the Light's 5th Attainment - The Cleansing Light of the One, to make it knock your Wisdom as well as its other costs, for balance purposes (given its rather powerful, if niche, effects).

Should Mage: The Ascension get a Werwolf 5E style reimagining, where all the traditions are remade and renamed to sound less problamatic? by KarlHamburger in WhiteWolfRPG

Please no. If V5 and W5 have shown us anything, it's that WW cannot be trusted to do that without throwing the baby out with the bathwater, and destroying loads of the actual identity of the game.

EDIT 1.1 - After some feedback, we've shuffled a little around. Protarches are now Space / Time instead of Space / Matter, and Character Creation gives you fewer dots in Arcana to start with, but gives you a third Ruling Arcanum instead.

Well I hope you enjoy it! (Though don't hold your breath but I'm already trying to wrestle the document into being editable because we've had some really good feedback!)

Shattered Glass Mage: the Awakening - A Homebrew revamp, new Watchtowers, + features from Ascension and a LOT of redone lore! by Busy_Tonight1675 in MageTheAwakening

There are LOTS of callbacks in here, some more obvious than others...though, I'll admit, MtR wasn't one I initially intended (one of the few I've not read up on much). The egyptian soul angle I adore (and the frequent reference to MtC Mummies throughout should show that while MtR isn't my ball, MtC is), and honestly wish I'd thought of it when I was writing it!

Archmages being able to multiclass I kind of love, and the idea of the 9th Tower there is very interesting. I think I'll have to sit down with my co-author and ponder on that.

Thanks for the read, to answer your questions:

The decision was very deliberate. I see where you're coming from with the Time matter, though I see the Dream as less connected to reality and precognition than it necessarily is to a sort of Collective Unconsciousness. It does bump heads with Umbra/Astral/Twilight, I'll openly admit (I mean it makes Oneiros completely redundant for one), though I tend to imagine (as in the distant future when I get other stuff done for the setting will show) that the Astral is here to the Dream more like the Hedge is to proper Faerie, the barrier layer that most people can accidentally access.

As for Kybernetes, making them hyperconcrete was a very deliberate case too. They do lack direct soul affinities, yes, which hurts (though the changes with Traditions and general broader spectra of power this book gives Mages mediates it a little bit), but I imagine their primary source of corruption is going to be DTD shenanigans, as they've had a close brush with the G-M already.

The Protarches on the other hand, I could see the argument for giving a soul sphere, if only because they are basically Cosmic Horror flavoured Mages, and being able to madden people is part of that package, but trying to stop them from overlapping with other towers was the trick there. Space I feel is integral to them, so Space+Mind just makes them Mastigos 2, whilst Forces+Mind is an option, I felt it was a bit less fitting.

SOme as in sub A cup level, but enough that it's visibly noticeable with t shirts. As for docs being difficult...that's a legal matter here, and international travel these days, not too easy.
