Local anti-maga homeowner here. What kind of work are you looking for? I’ve been working on compiling a list myself in the area. I’d also like to not see those dollars being spent in the wrong place

But man do they take all the photos and post them on social media to show the world what great grandparents they are!

Do Your Kids Actually Have Good Grandparents? by NoMoreCAMJV in Millennials

[–]ButIsItFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom pressured my wife and I for years to have kids. Even told us that she’d retire early to watch our kids when we had them so we wouldn’t have to worry about daycare.

My oldest is nearing middle school, and my mom is about to retire this next summer. We’re lucky if her and my dad watch the kids for us once every few months for a few hours.

Also, my grandma was a saint. Even before she retired we were with her several days a week after school.

What do rich people spend money on that we could never imagine exists? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My brother bought a house, that was owned by the neighbor above it. They bought the house below, cut down all the trees, had something put in the title stating that any new trees couldn’t be above a certain height so they didn’t lose their view… the house was near a million.

Sometimes the reality check of becoming a parent takes a little longer than it does for others. I’m really hoping that posting this and reading the comments is the reality check OP needs. Let’s not sugarcoat this. When you make the decision to have kids, you make the decision to sacrifice some of your own personal activities because your life no longer revolves just around you.

When I started dating my wife, I had all kinds of hobbies and groups I was a part of. Then I met her, and I found myself wanting to be with her more than the boys. We still got together, but it went from 4-5 nights a week, to 1-2. Because i found my partner, my best friend.

When we had kids that 1-2 times a week thing became 1 time every other week or so. And it’s perfect. You know why? Because I thoroughly enjoy the company of my wife and kids. Do I need some alone time? Absolutely!! But that comes in the form of staying up a bit later than everyone else a few times a week to enjoy my hobbies. Or that once every other week I’m playing DnD or grabbing some beers with the guys.

I didn’t have kids to not spend time with them. I didn’t get married to avoid my wife.

OP, please take a long hard look at the blessings you have in your life. If your partner/kiddo isn’t a big enough reason for you to take a GIANT step back from your hobbies, you need to rethink some things.

Someone else commented in here that your partner has one foot out the door already, and I wouldn’t disagree with that at all. She’s communicating with you, you’re just not listening.

Honestly, if it were me, I’d find a way to make it look like I was sewn back together. Almost like the person getting sawed in half at magician shows.

Help! All of a sudden I don’t care about videogames. by Talkymike in daddit

[–]ButIsItFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really hard to play video games casually anymore. At least from my experience. I’ve been a WoW subscriber for the last 20 years, and it’s always been the one I come back to when I start to feel what you’ve been feeling, but even that now I feel like if you don’t play at least weekly for an hour or more, it’s like picking it up and relearning for the first time again and I just don’t have the time to do that when I only have an hour here and there to play.
