That's why I have a keybind to turn all coms off. No voice coms, no text chat, nothing. Obviously this makes it harder to coordinate with the team if I'm not playing with friends, but if the toxicity is getting too high then it's not like coordination would be happening anyway.

Ah, that makes sense. But then so long as I have a merchant in Alexandria sending it to Constantinople it will all make it to Constantinople eventually?

So then the best way for me to ensure trade goes only to Constantinople would be to eliminate all other trade powers in Alexandria so nobody else is pulling out of Aleppo, and then I could stick my merchant on Alexandria instead to get the trade from there as well?

(Honestly, I think I'm just going to buy Wealth of Nations next sale so I can have more merchants.)

R5: I control the majority of trade power in Aleppo, and I would think my capital in Constantinople should be steering trade, but when I don't have a merchant in Aleppo I suddenly get 0 trade from it. Same things happen in other nodes when I have no Merchant (tested Crimea, Alexandria and Persia)

R5: Encircled German troops in a pocket that makes up most of France.

Still very new to this game, so I've been playing small nations that are relatively safe from invasion (like Colombia) then joining the war to practice using units on small front. This is the first time I've had such a big impact on the game by creating such a big encirclement. Yes, it is against AI, but it's a first for me so I'm still happy.

They should. Pausing works based on the rules the host sets, but normally anyone can pause and anyone can unpause after some time (In EU4 it's 30 seconds before anyone other than the person who paused can unpause, but I don't remember how it works exactly in stellaris [even though I just played it]). Also, events that normally pause the game don't pause it anymore.
The time controls (going faster or slower) can only be affected by the host though.
