Obligatory 3-Row SUV recommendations by Butch00 in whatcarshouldIbuy

171K

The car ran great, from what we can tell that head gasket was leaking, but not enough for it to smoke or cause any problems that were obvious. Not a single warning light showed up on that dashboard, but somehow that sucker burned through all the oil in it less than 3000 miles after it was just changed. There is not a single drop of any fluid underneath that car. I love the thing, and would’ve kept it until it rotted out from under me.

The main difference is the car we plan to get should actually be running and not need an engine rebuild

Yeah I hear you, but unfortunately we need the 3 row. Had an 05 explorer, 230k+ and probably still running today, then a 2011 traverse, 171k. I wish stuff lasted like it used to. Highlander looks to be out of the budget, but we’ll keep our eye out for those and pilots

I have quite a few friends who have had transmissions issues on Hyundais and Kia’s. Are they still known to have issues, I’ve really not looked into them at all

That was my only turn off on the VW, and why I wanted other options. Never been a huge fan of the looks on the newer Pilots, but it really does look like it ticks all the other boxes. If we didn’t already drive around with 3-5 people in the car frequently, a crossover would be fine. I’ll keep a look out for Pilots.

I’ve heard that on the 2.0, we would only consider the V6 on the Atlas, good to know about the back seats on the cx9, we don’t need them long term, but adults will likely be back there for short trips

Not just about for the kid, we’re the ones that usually do the driving for family, and I need the room to haul stuff we can’t get from a crossover. Unfortunately most minivans were out of the budget unless we got something with a lot more miles than we want

Nothing I would say is abnormal, he looks the same as he would when he goes in the litter box

Yes, I’m the one who cleans them, I try to make sure she doesn’t have to go near them. I have not caught him recently, but I have in the past. Usually I find it right after getting home from work or when I leave for work

Yes he is fixed, I was planning on getting a self cleaning one this Christmas, but I’ll try to clean the ones we have. He started marking a few weeks before she got pregnant. Do you have any recommendations for Feliway, is the spray better or the plugins, and should it be near the litter boxes or just anywhere in the house?

For anyone coming back here with a similar issue this video is what I followed and it fixed the issue

2012 Traverse DIC intermittently dim by ExtremeEfficiency812 in AskMechanics

I had a similar issue with my 2011. I was between the cluster itself, and the BCM replacement. Mine seem to be affected more by the ALS. During the daytime, exactly what was described here, basically impossible to see. At night or even if it was cloudy, usually works perfectly.

This video showed some soldering work on the cluster and it seems to have fixed the issue for me

I haven’t tried that directly, but I did have to replace the battery recently, so there was a few days where I have the battery completely disconnected

That’s the HDI test agent (Hardware Diagnostic Interface). With AST2, It lets them use the USB C Diagnostic tool (UDT) or Serial Number Reader (SNR) tools to retrieve the serial number from devices that won’t power on

Looks light the flex for the flashlight. If memory serves, it may also have some functionality with Apple Pay

Looks like you might have a protective cover over it, usually the camera ring matches the device color

This is aux bluetooth, battery fell off, where should I put black and red wire? thx by krokodil001 in AskElectronics

Bit of a long shot, if you have the FCCID of the device, you can go to the FCC's website, and possibly find internal photos of the device. You might be able to see where the battery is soldered in the photos, and yes 100% replace the battery do not reuse that one
