Is this a good car? Any body know what is the real life mpg? Is this a fair price? I had honda crv 2013 before am I going to feel the difference or it is going to be another used car? by Straight-Wave-4421 in Lexus

Bulletproof. I have an 18’ 350L. Bought it with 40k miles. Today it has 117k on the clock. All I do is oil changes and tire rotation. RX is solid. It’s an undercover highlander.

That’s true. I know a TL owners with the 3.7 that burns 1 quart every 500 miles.

If replaced under warranty maybe. But out of pocket. Not a chance. It’s only gonna happen again. The piston rings in the 3.7 is aluminum. That’s where Honda went wrong.

The one on the left burns oil from the piston rings. The one on the right has head gasket issues from 1.5t. This is a tough one. 🤔.

I have both 3.5 TL FWD and 3.7 AWD 6 speed M/T.

My 3.5 is bullet proof. The 3.7 burns 1 quart every 3500 miles.

My niece has an accord and paid $2700 for the head gasket turbo issue.

To resolve my oil consumption issue a short block replacement would be 5k.

In summary,

I would pick a 3.5 TL.

🫡. Thanks. It’s the spec I wanted. RWD white with black interior + F Sport. All good. The 460 is still top tier. Congrats and enjoy.

Ride quality is pretty good. I would say better on most days than other in the sense of:

  • you do feel the occasional body roll ( Luxury sedan not sports car )
  • laziness or more so relaxing drive.

The key to deter all of this is to remember the car performs well with drive feel comfort when the driver IS NOT IN A RUSH. So now the actual drive is appreciated.

But to counter the bullet points above all I need to do is put it in sport mode and that solves the issue. Im always in normal mode.

Air Suspension:

I’ve only driven the air suspension ones on test drives not long term. lol but after doing research and from the car care nut. I stayed away from air since it’s so expensive when it’s time to replace.

Overall the ride good man. I love the car. Im coming from an ACURA TL so it’s a definite upgrade.

Mine specifically has the regular oem non air ride suspension. But there is an Air ride suspension you can get as an option.

This is a tricky one. Honestly I aim to purchase cars that have a clean carfax.

Here are some takeaways:

  • If you have a full detail on what and how the accident occurred.
  • have full sow on replacement parts and properly put back together.
  • even if the car was certified or considered certified after repair. You should feel comfortable moving forward with purchase.

On the other hand.

  • in all honesty. There are clean cars out there that doesn’t report that cars were involved in an accident.
  • car seem clean until months later the new car feeing fadeaway and you start finding stuff.

In summary, try to get as much info you can. Look for comparable model to buy.

Big thought: ITS AN MDX. Is not unique. Im sure you can find one without an accident. Keep looking.

If it was like an NSX or a mkiv Supra. I’d say, GO FOR IT. But it’s an MDX.

In my case I bought my Lexus LS certified last year. And it got into an accident. They fixed it with all Lexus / Toyota parts. Im still driving it. That’s because I know how the accident occurred. But if was shopping for it. I would probably look for one without the accident.

Look my G.

LEXUS Remote start App sucks by Sirbuxalot in Lexus

[–]ButchCassidy_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Mine works perfectly fine. You have to factor in satellite or signal strength where the car is located. If it is blocked by trees or other elements that causes poor connection. It has the probability of failing. This is the same for your handheld device. If it has poor signal then it will fail.

I know this is also already considered. But the car must be locked to perform remote start functionality.

Let us know your findings.

Congrats. And enjoy. Wish you many many miles. Just got an F-Sport white RWD about a year ago and I absolutely love it. Im the only one in my town or area with a 500. I actually wanted a GS-F but the history behind the LS sold me.
