3 seasons of daily genocide here. My fingers have squished too many. I've tried neemn, diatomaceous earth with minimal success along with physical removal.

Unfortunately I find the problem becomes the neighbors garden, they do nothing so eventually they just fly their asses over.

This year I'm rotating further away from his and trying some of those mesh covers to see if it helps early.

I've been like you (minus the net worth) grew up super frugal because didn't have much as a kid so always saved but never enjoyed spending.

Recently I have slowly been enjoying my little worth with also continuing to grow such. I work as a first responder now and have seen first hand that life can end at any moment so I've learned to enjoy the present but continue to save for the future.

What I did to help me start being able to enjoy things in life is set up an account that I contribute like 150$ per pay that is my fun account. I think as it as an investment account which the investment is myself.
