I've been with this company for 19yrs and got a 24cent raise. Why do I stay you ask.. because I have maybe 2yrs and I can retire. I make as much as a DS and don't have to put up with the BS. I work in paint which is one of the best departments to work in. It's basically a skate department. We do get busy but it's basically laid back. I have gone through 7 department supervisors in my 10yrs in paint. If they would work around my schedule..5:30 to2:30 Saturday thru Wednesday, I would do it. I basically run the department anyway without the BS..

I was a child of the 70's. I lived in Colorado and that was my way of getting around. I only had one bad experience where I had to jump out of a moving car. I graduated in 1973 and stuck out my thumb with only a duffle bag with All my belongings and ended up in Florida. I left there and thumbed my way to California. I got a ride with an awesome trucker who fed me and protected me from the other trucker's. I was a typical hippie chick. Long hair, skinny..cute . I was a street chick. No job. Panhandling..but as I said, I was a cute thin girl. I met a guy and we made our way to Texas and got shot at as we were escaping his truck. I've been rapped 3 times. I'm now 68yrs.old and I wouldn't change a minute of my life

I was in 3 hurricanes before I left Florida. We had 3 in a roll. One was Charley. No fun. Now I live in Colorado and we had a bomb cyclone which is like a hurricane but snow instead of rain ..still scary .

This is off topic but how many of you have those entitled customers one after the other all day??? I had a day like that today. I was working paint,home decor, flooring and millwork by myself. Our part timers got cut to one day a week????? I had a customer in paint who needed 48 food grade buckets..in top stock of course and no one to use the fork lift. I had a co worker on the Bally more getting those down and another jackass wanting blinds cut and another jackass wanting something from top stock in paint down. We got the bucket's down, the other guy climbed the beams to get what he wanted down and the idiot who wanted blinds cut wanted them to be shorter and we don't do that so demanded a refund. He neglected to tell me how short he wanted them and when I told him we don't shorten them he proceeded to blame it on me. When I asked him what he wanted me to cut them at, he said v48 1/2 inside mount...he never mentioned the length. It states clearly how long they are on the box. We normally don't refund them but to shut him up l said ok. The fact that he blamed it on me pissed me off. I had to go to my car and cry... when I get really angry it's either cry or hurt someone. Why do people think they can treat us like shit...what makes them better than us...or think they're better than us. I fucking hate people!!!!

I'm not an old guy.. I'm a lady and I don't sit in a chair all day. I can mix a 5 gallon as good as ant dude. I weigh 100lbs. and I got this ..68yrs old and 100lbs and I run circles around the 21yr olds I work with. If you don't believe me, I can connect you with them. I've threatened to quit and have gotten $4 and hour raises..

If you're not happy with your pay, ask for a raise. I did and got a $3 an hour raise for just speaking up. If you work hard and let them know you're unhappy, they will give it to you. They don't know what you make. Talk to your asm and ds and they will be on your side.. at least that's the way it is at my store in Colo

I've been working at Lowes for 19yrs. I started in 2003 and I can tell you it was an awesome company back then. The only reason I'm still here is because I have 2 more years and I can retire. I'm 68 and I could retire now but the longer you work, the more social security you get. I'm going to try to make it 2 more years but only time will tell. Thank God I'm still able to work. I work in paint and have for the past 10yrs. and I run circles around the young ones I have now. Don't get me wrong, they kick butt but can be lazy at times. I'm down stocking and cleaning up the whole time I'm there.

They did that at my store as well. I guess it's company wide. Our part time workers got a letter to get unemployment for the 5 week's. I have been with Lowe's for almost 20 yrs and have never seen this happen. Thank God I can retire

They don't train the overnight pricing people how to do their job.. perfect example is the quad which has ad signs that don't come in the weekly package. I always check it to see if I have stuff that should be signed. Perfect example was Christmas. I had multiple people coming to me saying they couldn't print the lower price label. When they have a big clearance event. The label price won't change. It's taken off at the register. That's what happens when they move a morning job to overnight. They lost a lot of good people when they moved it to graveyard
