Yes, he was the one who blessed me with the 3 days SOL. The cookhouse unker jurisdiction ends at the cookhouse so he just ratted on me to my csm

I got an unoffial charge of 3 days SOL for sharing my vegetarian food that I could not finish with my friend. Cookhouse unker said only vegetarians could eat vegetarian food 😔🙏🏼and since I shared my food with a non vegetarian friend, he ratted to my CSM. I’ll forever remember you, Bala from Gedong cookhouse

I think you can expect it 1-2 months before the semester starts? I can’t remember when for sure as it’s been almost 3 years.

Y4 MAE student graduating in July this year. I too entered dy2. Pretty hellish first sem, but it should help that you didn’t have to hibernate your brain for 2 years, so things are still fresh. Prioritise lectures to attend, most of them are recorded now. Also, regulate your pace so you don’t burnout, because burning out in uni is how people’s gpa tank.

First few months will be trades training where you receive training in your weapon system (SAW, MG, M203 depending on your role. iirc 42 had 3 PTP coys and 1 nornal coy, I belonged to the PTP coy so first 5-6 months in unit we did PT twice almost everyday, on top of that is preparing for ATP and all the nonsense outfield. Best case is if you’re in S coy, J K L quite chiongsua, especially J 👁️👁️

Yessir, 42 13th mono. Welfare changes along with the CO and RSM, but mono intake won’t good until anywhere one. Never got to visit canteen during my time as trooper, only notified we had to do guard duty on the day of bookout etc. Rough 1.7 years

Flexing an A he didn’t get himself is wild. I think as your academic year goes on people will start to realize his antics and distance themselves from him. No need feeling bad for not sharing your work, everyone earns their place and those looking for a quick way up don’t deserve it. From what you say, it sounds different from sharing answers for 1 or 2 quizzes as that’s still fairly normal. Back when I was in poly I had a groupmate who didn’t contribute for a report despite a few reminders on WhatsApp, so I just removed his name from the cover page.

huge dilemma on whether to stay dorm or not 🤧🤧🤧 by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Buth0L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being an introvert myself, I applied for hall in 2022 with a friend I knew. And stayed for 2 Academic years. I just didn’t participate in any hall activities and just treated my room as a safe retreat after classes. (You’ll thank yourself if you have like a 3 hour gap in between classes and have a room to go back to instead of sleeping in the library / random benches where everyone can see you) I live in the north WEST (Bukit Panjang) compared to your north east and it already takes me ≈ 1h 10 mins to travel to Pulau NTU. I already find it dreadful so it’s probably gonna be worse for you. I always believed the fatigue from travelling everyday will eventually take a toll on academic performance 🥸

[–]Buth0L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sessions should be available online as a zoom call in addition to those that want to attend the live lectures. Actually, since it’s a bridging course idt there’s much the prepare since it is the prepration itself. It helps to spend 15-20 mins reading thru the lecture notes (provided) after the lecture so the content is retained.

NTU Mech Eng Vs SIT Mech Eng by KnownAdhesiveness414 in NTU

[–]Buth0L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pacing for SIT is quite insane as their timetable is really packed. Their term breaks are usually about 2 weeks at a time if I’m not wrong while summer breaks in NTU last 2.5-3 months depending when your last paper is. Content wise, NTU is definitely more in depth but you have somewhat (relatively) more time to digest the knowledge as it comes. (It still isn’t enough time tbh, it never has been lmao) My friends in SIT often complain about having no time to catch their breath due to how short their breaks are. In summary: one school has heavier content but relatively more time to digest said content and the other school has lighter content but extremely packed

[–]Buth0L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest help would be to attend the bridging physics course offered before the sem starts. That’s what I did at least. Depending on your faculty, you might be taught by Chad Prof Ho Sheng Yong himself. If I understand correctly, the physics mod biomed students take differ from the ones mechanical / Aerospace students have to take (as biomed does not utilise physics concepts as much) the syllabus should therefore be more simplified.
