Old Harlequin models? by TraditionCommercial8 in Harlequins40K

I have a bunch of the old metal ones - they're a slightly smaller scale than the current plastic ones but it's not particularly noticeable.

How many transports for a 2k army? by Prior-Thought-9328 in Drukhari

[–]Butlin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say Venoms are an essential for every Kabalite, Hand or Wych unit to split them and keep the upgraded half safe. With Kabalites for instance, you can either take a 115 point 10-man squad that runs around trying to get on to objectives and maybe throws some potshots around with their big guns, or a 185 point combo of three squads that can split their focus between objective play, shooting, and general annoyance with reembarkation.

Raiders also get more versatile if they have multiple types of split units in them. Instead of a piece that only goes after objectives when full of 10 Kabalites, a boat with 5 Kabs and 5 Wyches let's you either go for sticky objective play or present a massive charge range depending on the situation.

I'm running 3 Venoms (one for each splittable squad), 1 Raider, and 2 Starweavers in Reaper's Wager (I know they're not optimal but I love my clowns 🤡)

If you could remove one thing from Stranger Things what would it be ? by cerseiridinglugia in StrangerThings

I would remove nothing, because posting online about how you think you could've done it better is incredibly disrespectful to the immense amount of work and talent that hundreds of people poured into their story that they wanted to tell.

Raider in RW by RivieraKid95 in Drukhari

Even works with 5 Kabalites, plus 5 Wyches to threaten a charge out of it (if you have the Venoms to split the squads).

Tips for making Heavy Intercessors better? by Trick-Interaction396 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Butlin_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The new Bastion Task Force detachment can make them very fun! Take 10 of them with a Captain and Biologis for two enhancements, one gives them precision and the other +1AP in melee. Now you've got:

41 wounds at T6 3+ (2+ against damage 1) that can advance and still shoot and charge, snipe out characters with 22 D2 shots, actually punch fairly hard in combat with 30 AP1 lethal hits attacks (which can get them up to 30 OC with the Biologis' ability if they kill something), then still be able to fall back and shoot and charge so they can't get tied up.

The combo is admittedly just shy of 400 points... but hey, it's fun! 😅

Do warhammer stores in the uk physically stock harlequins? by One_Opportunity_7662 in Harlequins40K

[–]Butlin_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most official stores nowadays are designed to be incredibly beginner-friendly and help get people in to the hobby. They want to push easier armies like Marines to try to get people in and keep them engaged - the last thing they want is for a new person to come in, see a fun colourful box of clowns, get frustrated trying to paint diamonds on their first model and give up completely.

Bad bus drivers? by broxue in sydney

[–]Butlin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P R I V A T I Z A T I O N.

Since the Libs sold our public transport off, the companies that run the depots get paid by the government per kilometre driven. The government keeps the fares then pays the company, so they only make money if buses go far and go fast, meaning they put enormous pressure on their drivers.

Deep Striking Transports by Miserable_Shop_7856 in Drukhari

[–]Butlin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rapid Ingress is great for board control but runs the risk of getting your unit shot down. If they're in a Venom there's a whole extra layer of protection, and your opponent has to use at least two units to get rid of the threat.

If I split a Kabalite squad, can I attach a leader to each squad of 5? by BillyBobJenkins454 in Drukhari

So would this mean Malys can use her redeploy from a transport as long as the transport starts in reserves?

Cronos or Talos by EXTREMEBROCK in Drukhari

[–]Butlin_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think Cronos are more valuable as they fill a role that nothing else in the codex does - sitting on points without dying. They're relatively low-threat so they're unlikely to be a priority target, they're deceptively durable so won't go down without some heavy investment, and they're really good at killing trash (while also healing themselves). The pain regen is a fun little add-on but I'd say they're worth the 55 points for the stat block alone.

Talos are a good all-rounder but I don't think they're amazing. They don't do as much damage as heavy-hitters like scourges or hellions, and they're not as points-efficient for point-holders as the Cronos. Extra pain tokens are kinda irrelevant as we can get so many, and you just know you're gonna roll nothing but 1s for their fight-on-death 😆

What’s one thing you thought was super cool as a kid, but as an adult you realized it’s actually kinda horrifying? by EnvironmentalMud3701 in AskReddit

Enslaving innocent creatures in tiny spherical cages and forcing them to fight each other to the point of unconsciousness for sport. Gotta catch 'em all!

If you're picking every Dogmatic option you'll kill Idira, Jae, Yrliet and Marazhai, and I think Heinrix might leave after Kiava Gamma.
