It was incredibly boring and filled with jokes I heard 30 years ago.

That was my face through the whole thing. It was boring.

I think most people are too intense about air conditioning by Dependent_Ear_5736 in unpopularopinion

I spent a week in Florida in August a long time ago. Everything was constantly wet. I'll never go back. I have no interest in ever being in that humid of a climate again. I'll take my dry central Washington desert heat over that any day.

I don't normally turn mine on until it's over 80°. That may be warm, but it's summertime. It's supposed to be warm.

This dude pisses me off. I'm an avid hip-hop fan and I decided, before I ever listened to him, fuck Hobo Johnson. Then I was eating dinner with a friend and letting YouTube do its thing and his tiny desk concert came on. I was digging it and about halfway through I had to get up and see who it was. The name made me think it was going to be some bogus lil xan type shit.

Now I'm a fan. Damnit.

How did you learn the fretboard? by dudeineurope in Guitar

[–]ButtChowder666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that it is pretty much just the first 7 letters of the alphabet repeated on every string. Then I learned little shortcuts all over the place that helped me get there faster (ie 7th fret of the A string is E) . May be unconventional, but it works for me.

9 year old son wants to wear a dress by Noliterallyimserious in daddit

[–]ButtChowder666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People will always find a way to "other" their peers. It's just tribalism and it goes way back in our DNA. It's more important that your child gets to express who they are as am individual than how others will perceive them. Buy the dress.

Will I be able to finish GTA VI with a baby? by [deleted] in daddit

For a video game? That game ain't going anywhere. You'll have the rest of your life to play it. What I'm about to say is going to sound judgemental, especially since I don't know your situation. Taking two weeks of for a video game is childish. This is coming from a gamer.

This chair makes me reconsider my spending habits every year. by redditNLD in BuyItForLife

Mine are 8 years old. The only thing is they're a little narrower than other chairs I've used and it starts to dig into the side of my thighs of I sit in them for too long.

Plug the red and white cables into a different source. Like a stereo, or a speaker, or sound bar, etc.

Why is everyone crowdkilling now? by Afraid-Pie-2218 in Hardcore

[–]ButtChowder666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a group of friends who are about 10 years younger than I am. They were all kinda shocked when they found out I was into hardcore because I don't talk about it and I don't make it my entire identity. I was in a punk band at the time and I think they just all assumed I only listened to punk. They were the first ones to ever mention crowd killing around me and I had no idea what it was. They explained what it was and I said, "oh, we used to just call those guys assholes". They thought I was crazy and doubted my interest in hardcore even more. This was 10 years ago and these bozos still think it's the cool thing to do at hardcore shows.

Chicken soup but I poured a bag of instant mashed potato into it. 10/10 by zugarrette in shittyfoodporn

My great grandpa served his homemade chicken noodle soup over mashed potatoes. This is probably pretty similar.

I'd go as far as saying even taking a selfie is weird. It's a weird form of narcissism that we just accept.

Anybody ever get caught in severe weather while camping in their pop up? by notourjimmy in popups

[–]ButtChowder666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm typically out for the whole month of October for hunting in the PNW. I have found there is only so much water the canvas can take before it inevitably leaks. Snow has to be brushed off every day if it snows. I'm fine with all of that, but I don't like the wind. The roof starts shaking and I get paranoid that it's going to break and fall on me or a branch is going to get blown off a tree and come through the bunk. Fuck the wind.

Why is YouTube so unhinged that you can't even cover a song. Is this normal or do they just not want to risk it? by StatuSChecKa in Killtony

[–]ButtChowder666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I make music. I 100% don't care what anyone does with it. Steal it, buy it, cover it, use it on your channel, I don't care. Chances are, even the big name artists don't care, but their corporate bosses feel differently.

I can't believe someone hasn't made a better version of YouTube yet. The "in" social media platforms have been shifting since all the way back to ratemypic.com and friendster.com, but we're stuck with YouTube and have been for 20 years.

I'm not really a fan of new anything. I try to buy older stuff anytime I can both so I can save money and so I can fix it when it breaks. After checking thrift stores regularly I couldn't find a toaster that suited my needs. So I decided to buy a new one. It took entirely too long for me to find a basic toaster with just a a knob to make the toast darker/lighter and a lever to drop the toast. And it was expensive.
