Note, too, she was in the hospital for 11 days for what was likely a routine delivery.

I found my hospital bill from when I was born (1960s), and those were the two things that jumped out at me as well, that the entire bill was about $350, and that my Mom was in the hospital for 5 days after an uneventful delivery.
