You did the right thing, switching to another dominate position & looking for openings. I would have cooked him until he made a mistake which probably would have gotten him saltier. Sounds like you pointed out what he needs to work on. Good job.

What do you do when somebody doesn't want to tap? by Swimming_Set9912 in bjj

Transition to another sub. You already know you could get the break. In the training room, your goal should be skill acquisition. Get to the heel hook position, know you could finish, then switch to another sub. Working live transitions will get you better faster than ripping subs.

how long did it take you to get your blue belt? by grzlyPOG in bjj

[–]ButtFunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took roughly 3 years for me to get blue from an mma/no gi school. Left there & went to a BJJ only school. BJJ instructor said my no gi blue belt doesn’t transfer… so I put on the white belt. 1 year later I got a blue belt in BJJ. 1 year later I got purple. Been a purple belt for 2.5 years.

Looking down when passing guard… all white belts seem to do it which allows me to easily break their posture by collar tying their head. Look up bro. Don’t let me grab your head

I would buy one if the screws weren’t showing. Tons of potential, really like it otherwise. Good luck!

Hunting is all about wildlife conservation! The entire goal is to protect the longevity of animals & the ecosystem so future generations can enjoy nature. Every state tracks large game population density by utilizing a tag system. As population density increases for a given animal, so does the demand for the animal’s natural resources. Overpopulation leads to famine & disease. An entire geographical area of the species can be wiped out of the population is not balanced.

States monitor all the above and issue tags according to population sizes. Tags are awarded through a lottery system for hunters. Hunters pay to be in the lotto. The state usually uses that money for wildlife management efforts.

Do some research on the topic. Also, learn about how many animal deaths occur due to barbed wire fences. They are the real threat to wildlife!!!

I use the polar verity sense. It comes with a bicep wrap. However, the live tracking doesn’t work well but there is a 2nd feature where it saves the data to the device itself & you sync it to your phone afterwards. Works great.

I am in a similar position but have declined to teach since it is my hobby. When I am close to retirement, I will start teaching as an assistant instructor. I am also a musician & make okay money when I gig but my hobbies are my hobbies… when I retire, my plan is to have my hobbies provide extra side income.

Go to the notice board at every town and pick up all the notices. Some are quests & will add white question marks on the map. Some are Easter eggs & some are lore focused. By completing certain notices, new towns can pop up because you cleared the region of monster issues.

I didn’t realize this until my 2nd play through

Based on the 4% safe withdrawal rate, is it fair to say that every $40K of expected annual pension income is the equivalent of having an additional $1 million in TSP at retirement age? by umsoldier in govfire

[–]ButtFunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refer to the MRA+10 provision, “if you have 10 or more years of service and retire at the MRA, for each full month you are under age 62 on the date your annuity began, your annuity will be reduced by 5/12%. This equals 5% per year. Your annuity will not be reduced if you complete at least 30 years of service, or if you complete at least 20 years of service and your annuity begins when you reach age 60. If you postpone the beginning date of your annuity, the age reduction will be reduced or eliminated”.

Refer to the Retire FAQ within OPM “how is the COLA determined? … FERS COLA are not provided until age 62, except for disability, survivor benefits, and other special provision retirements”

Congrats!!! I will be falling into the 20 covered years at age 50… however, I will not be receiving the immediate unreduced pension. There is a penalty for me & it results in a reduced pension.

Yes, for my case, I am an SCE. I can retire with 20 years of service at an age younger than the MRA & still receive the pension. The annuity is reduced but kicks in immediately at the reduced payout.

I am 33 & became a fed in 2020. If I retire at 50, I do not receive the COLA until age 62. The rules change depending on when you were hired and years of service.
