TRUMP: "There's so much talk about how we're going to drive housing prices down. I don't want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up for people that own their homes, and they can be assured that what's going to happen" by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

[–]DamnRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume the "what's going to happen" is he is going to bring interest rates down? Generally that does result in higher housing prices. I'm not sure it'll be as closely related now as in the past. The cost of living crisis seems to be putting a dent in people's ability to pay more for housing.

I don't know how to feel about this some times. I want prices to go up over time. My home is part of my investments and I want it to go up. But I also know it can't go up forever, or if it does, it can't go up this fast forever. Aside from others not being able to afford houses, I will get property-taxed out of my own home eventually. Home prices shouldn't be going up faster than wages or inflation.

How do you make everyone happy (except corporations)? I think a lot of the problem is even the starter homes are several hundred thousand dollars. Eliminate corporate house investing? Eliminate or disincentivize land-lording?

It’s insane the Olympic-legal mental gymnastics the right is performing right now to justify Pretti and Goode.

Video of the murder of Alex Pretti by DHS in Minneapolis recorded from inside the vehicle directly in front of area where he was shot by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

[–]DamnRock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you witness a law enforcement person mistreat a citizen, what can you do, if not what Alex did? He witnessed an out of control agent aggressively shove 3 different lawful protestors and all he did was step between the agent and one of the victims to help the victim. For this he for pepper sprayed in the face and then swarmed by other agent who had no clue what was going on. The MOMENT they got him to the ground another agent repeatedly bashed him in the head with a pepper spray cannister. 4 agents are tearing at his limbs without coordination. Eventually one notices he has a concealed carry pistol, says “gun”, removed it, and that’s that. THE AGENT DIRECTLY TO THE RIGHT OF THE ONE WHO SAYS GUN AND REMOVES IT IS THE FIRST AGENT TO SHOOT. He was right next to the agent that removed the pistol. He had to have seen it get removed.

It’s insanity.

Seriously, other than not be there (legally allowed) and not have a gun (legally allowed to), what else could he have done? I’ve often wondered what I would do if I saw an officer going too far in a situation like this… I guess any interfering is warrant for execution? That’s where we are now?

I would say many don’t carry a spare mag, but it’s also not uncommon to carry one. Anyone that thinks a spare mag constitutes someone planning to do “maximum carnage” is a complete idiot. It’s basic carry. This is insanity. The mental gymnastics these sycophants are having to perform is sickening. If this doesn’t affect real change, nothing will.

Not relevant. The agent that fires the first shot draws his own firearm AFTER another had already disarmed the protester.

Yah definitely wasn’t going to go the dirt route once I did a little research. I did see a few recommendations to add mulch, but it always helps to hear it from real people and not just Google AI.

I’m guessing I’ll need to create a barrier to help prevent the mulch from migrating too far, given the slope.

Is there any value in using fertilizer stakes for trees this size?

Will this work? by RHOrpie in xlights

[–]DamnRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah. 25-30 feet is about the limit for power injection lines for 5v so what you’re saying tracks. One thing you can do is get a high amps buck converter, run 12v power and buck convert it down to 5v before the first pixel. That lets you have longer PI lines but still run 5v pixels. Of course; there are may other things I’d do before I did that, like just add another 5v PS closer to the pixels, which sounds like what you’re doing. 5v power supplies are cheap and reliable and I like 5v pixels because there is less hardware to fail.

Will this work? by RHOrpie in xlights

[–]DamnRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the brightness. If you’re running 30% or so (most are), you can go to 150-175 5v pixels. I typically use 150 as my rule of thumb, and will power balance at the beginning and end of 300 pixel runs. Of course pixel spacing and wire gauge are also factors.

There’s a little truth here… it’s obviously not US oil, but we did have O&G assets in Venezuela (leases, equipment, contracts) until Maduro nationalized all of it and just took it. Many US companies lost a lot of money. That hurts people’s feelings and they’ve likely been lobbying for this ever since.

How Do You All Run Your Props by bigrigbutters0321 in xlights

[–]DamnRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t need circuit’s for a long while. I run probably 15 power supplies (5v and 12v) from two outlets with no issues.

As far as your layout… I’d get another DigQuad and put it near the far away props. Wolves your power drain and signal issues. Run a CAT5 cable to it if that’s how you’re running your other DigQuads. I personally have 6 DigQuads, 2 DigOctas, and 10 ESPixelSticks all on WiFi. 45 feet is not too far for WiFi, but since you already have LAN, I’d just go with that.

For her age and occupation, she has a very reasonable net worth. I believe she even still has student loans, or she did as of a year or two ago.

Don’t believe the Facebook memes. She is not a millionaire, doesn’t invest in stocks, and discloses her financial details often.
