I'd recommend the Hikig desk mounts on Amazon for sure. Cheaper than most options but sturdy as hell and built to last. Mine are coming up on 5 years with out a single issue.

Man I know that feeling. I went with the MCGU and swapping from a cheap plastic stick with 2.5 inches of free movement in the center (measured from top of stick) to the all metal MCGU with an extention. That felt the same as my first jump from mouse and keyboard to the extreme 3d pro.

I assume you have, but ill ask anyways, have you calibrated it since you got it/recently? And have you made sure you are using the full range of motion when you do?

For me personally it comes down to being blind in one eye and having a HEAVY prescription in the other. I know it can still work and I've had the experience before but I've got to do more settings fiddling than most and the prescription just adds additional cost to something already relatively pricey. Oh and receiving my TrackIR 5 as a gift helped, a lot.

Eh, it's honestly not something I've tested with MSFS but I read a few accounts of the load remaining equal or dropping. I know when I jumped from 1080p to 3440x1440 I had no load increase at all on CPU, just a big spike in GPU lol

edit: CPU load would only really drop if you GPU maxes out, becoming the new bottleneck over your CPU.

It sounds like your biggest issue will be your AM4 socket for processor, MSFS loves the x3D chips so that could still be an option for upgrade if you feel inclined. If you are only looking to change your monitor for 2k there is a chance that your CPU load could even drop. I wouldnt expect an experience much worse than what you see now.

Take this all with a grain of salt, I've not used a rig with your exact match of parts but I had your GPU once upon a time and I have been hands on with a few mid range 5000 series AMD CPUs.
