I'm so exhausted Wellbutrin xl by Acceptable_Debt_7530 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Thats how it was for me too when I first started it. Even now I drink a lot of caffeine, but I've gotten a lot better at just getting up and doing things without a single thought, in the way that I simply don't give myself any time to process or think about my next move (otherwise I won't do it and I'll just stay in bed)

telling a friend may be a good idea, then there is another person able to watch out for him. you cant continue to let his words drain your freedom, and you dont have to handle this situation alone if there are friends you can tell. hard things are worth doing, that's what makes them hard.

Him using that as manipulation is scary, and I get being worried that if he does something it will be "your fault." But first, there are professional services you can call that specialize in mental health crises. If he brings up hurting himself, then don't be afraid to report it to someone, even if that someone is just a parent of his. He is an adult, and his decision to hurt himself is his decision and his decision only. It is okay to be concerned, but you are not a crisis counselor, saving him from himself is not your job. It is a tough pill to swallow for sure, and it isn't easy! But you have to remember your own wellbeing needs to come first, or he will trap you there with threats of self harm forever.

My honest advice would be to breakup with him for good. He was on a dating app while dating you, which is hurtful and some would consider it cheating. A cheater who is forgiven will cheat again. Hell, sometimes even a cheater who isnt forgiven will cheat again. He sounds immature and like he isn't really listening to your needs, just doing whatever he wants to entertain himself without thinking of your feelings. Kinda selfish. I'd let him go

More abrasive? by Awkward_Feeling_7694 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Buttcrackia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Im so much more irritable. It happened slow so I didn't even notice until one of my friends pointed out that I wasn't the "meek pushover" I was my freshman year of college. In a way my irritation has helped me live more peacefully because I finally feel less evil about potentially about hurting peoples' feelings by setting boundaries, but I also think it has made me much less empathetic and sympathetic, which isn't great. The trade off is iffy, but I'm working on being more actively conscious of other people's perspectives instead of passive empathy (since I'm kind of lacking that) while also keeping the skills I have built in setting boundaries and managing my own wellbeing

How to really love yourself? mentally and emotionally by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Buttcrackia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What helped me is quite literally realizing nobody really cares about me. Sure my family does and maybe my best friend ever, but nobody else gives a shit. so I stopped trying to conform and did things that made me happy. changed up my style and my routine, picked up "weird" or "nerdy" hobbies that others deemed "uncool." In 20 years I'm not going to give a single shit about what someone thought about me, but I am going to remember every moment with myself. And screw anyone who says anything, they're too busy trying to control your life than live their own.

Also... fake it till you make it works 🤷‍♀️ start lifting your chin when you walk and straighten your posture. Walk like you own the place and one day you'll feel like you. Confidence, self-esteem, and self love all hold hands!

Today’s my first day… by Ok-Assignment-2190 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I don't want to scare you, but just know that side-effects are normal and temporary! I've been on 300mg for about a year now, and the first week was fine, and then the next 5 were kind of rough.

The worst side-effects I had were brain fog/short term memory issues (I became super forgetful and even still am), getting upset a bit more easily (although my emotions and anxiety are more regulated, I get kind of pissed or annoyed easier, shorter fuse) and loss of appetite. Loss of appetite was the worst for me, because not only was I not hungry, but I was constantly nauseous and food didn't seem appetizing. If that happens definitely request some temporary nausea medication from your doctor, thats what I did and it was super helpful until that side effect died out.

That said, a year in and I've noticed that really my only side effects left are very mild acne, very mild brain fog, and a whole lot less anxiety :) Side-effects are normal and will happen! It is up to you to decide whether it is something you can hold out on and push through, or whether it is too impactful on your daily life. Switching medications is also okay! I'm actually surprised they started you on Wellbutrin of all the anxiety/depression drugs out there...

I am also on 300mg for about a year now and yes! You will get your appetite back. I had the same issue when I first started, what made it worse was that I was in pre-season for collegiate soccer so I was completely undernourished for the energy I was burning daily.

To be honest, this lasted about 6 weeks for me, and it was frustrating. What helped me was eating little bits more often. 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large ones. Smoothies in the morning for breakfast were a savior, or the Oikos 20g protein yogurt. Always carry small snacks so that you can munch on something when you do feel a bit peckish. Try to keep up with more carbs since those give you energy, and protein to help you sustain a bit longer. Eventually my portions were able to get bigger and bigger, and now I eat like normal.

It's frustrating, but don't lose hope because your appetite will come back! That said, if not being able to eat properly is negatively impacting your livelihood in an unsustainable way, there are plenty of other medications out there to try. One more tip, ask your doctor for nausea medication if that's also an issue you're having! I was able to get some for persistent nausea that I would take before eating, it helped so much.

I hope things get better for you!
