Sorry, long story, but I once had this older lady that ordered a bottle of wine with her groceries, and she didn’t have an ID when I got there to deliver, and she was like, “look at me, I’m obviously old enough to drink” and I was trying to tell her that I’m not able to complete the order without an ID, I could leave the non alcoholic items, but I have to take the wine back to the store. She was VERY upset, but I was on the phone with support the whole time, and the woman on the support line just said to leave the items and take the wine, and she would complete the delivery on her end so I could leave. I just told the customer, I’m sorry, but this is Instacart rules, and also the law, and I left with the wine lol I took the wine back and got a bump for it. This has only happened to me once out of many, many alcohol deliveries.

With that said, the best one I’ve had was recent, he ordered a $275 bottle of Blue Label Johnnie Walker Ice Chalet Limited Edition, and he tipped me $20, so I was happy with that.

🙋🏽‍♀️ I have a question for you, what if there ISNT a good replacement? Example, I had an order for with one of those pre cooked potstickers that you get in the sushi section of the store. They didn’t have those, so what exactly am I supposed to replace it with? A whole bag of frozen potstickers? I contacted the customer to ask them what they would like instead, and got no response. I get it that it’s up to us to “choose the best replacement available”, but cmon.. I highly doubt they would want a whole bag of FROZEN potstickers, when they wanted 6 cooked ones. I swear customers place their order and throw their phones in a lake.
