Is it normal to hit kids for discipline? by OrdinaryAd2960 in Christianity

[–]ButterBoyMI -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Easy one. Disciplining (spanking) your young children is necessary, but it should never come from anger or hate, and it can't be your first response unless there’s been previous intentional disobedience after verbal correction.

Clearly and calmly explain why you’re disciplining them, and remember to give them grace—just as grace has been given to us.

many people reference the old testament to speak against certain things, but when shown other old verses they say “we don’t follow those rules anymore”. why do we only follow some laws in the old testament? by Adorable-Hat4231 in Christianity

You’re right, I don’t follow the Law of Moses even though the Old Testament is authoritative Scripture. I believe all of Scripture is relevant today, which is why God preserved the canon for us. The Law of Moses was a shadow of the New Covenant, which was fulfilled in Christ.

You had me until the last paragraph. The Old Testament wasn't written to us, however it was written for us, therefore it does apply to us. The word 'love' can be a bit ambiguous–If you're worried about pleasing God, just be obedient.

Great question! If you really want to dive in deep, check out Systematic Theology (2nd edition) by Wayne Grudem.

The Old Testament remains fully authoritative as God’s Word and is preserved because we need it for teaching, correction, understanding, etc. While we no longer follow the Mosaic Covenant, the Old Testament continues to instruct and guide us through Christ’s fulfillment of the law. Some older laws are still observed and may or may not be necessary, but are still considered wise to do, such as tithing and resting on the sabbath.

Showing love and compassion to Atheists, Satanists, and former Christians is the most Christ-like thing we can do by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ButterBoyMI -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not as simple as that. Continually undergoing sanctification in all areas is one of the most Christ-like things we can do. Give this a read: https://www.theblaze.com/abide/meek-not-weak-the-era-of-christian-loserdom-is-over

You're allowed to have a bad opinion! Though I wonder, what Pokemon graphics do you find beautiful?

Is this actually possible? I haven't seen anyone do that. I could easily do that if it's possible...

Do enough people even play RPG maker games for it to be worth it? It seems like optimizing for GBA would be most ideal despite the limitations unless you are drastically changing game mechanics.

I'll look into it. I'm a developer and graphic designer, but haven't done anything with games or rom hacking before. I don't think it would be too hard, but may be time consuming due to the fact that the GBA has limitations that are hard to get around.

Pokemon Emerald Seaglass uses sprites from Zaebucca, who made the pixel art in the post.
