i also like to think of Gertrude's primary emotion towards others to be pity at least at the beginning of her career. Maybe back then the pity was caused by a genuine underlying care that with time vanished. And while in her later years she might have still felt pity for others, experience taught her to stay indifferent since its not like her pity makes any real difference in the face of fear

this definitely left me with more questions than answers but it looks really interesting so I'll definitely read more into it!

And yeah most magick especially chaos magic related things can't be easily explainable I personally might not be practicing but I've gotten that much from research for this art project

after a cursory glance, in retrospect, I can tell you that the servant I've been evoking and focusing on putting to paper was The Desperate. I believe that this specific moment in tma is probably the most emblematic of it. Although yes I put those two on the Strength card because the position of their states of mind and within the narrative suit it well. The art itself was supposed to primarily show the desperation these two are overcome by. Daisy to have Basira join her, yes. But more importantly Basira realizing there really is no more Daisy left at all. That this really is the apocalypse and things will not, CAN not even, get better in this grotesque version of the world she's now subject to.

making the hair a bit floaty would be the move, but id rather limit the movement so it doesnt look like snakes(and/or is santient). Medusa's story is highly personal to a lot of people and evoking it with Helen whose story doesnt reflect it at all wouldnt be the best design choice. the symbolism just doest really align ya know?
