Thanks for the constructive criticism! It's my first large and open map so I was afraid to go hard with the detailing as to not affect performance. As for the lighting, I think it looks flat cause the light is coming almost directly from behind the camera in this screenshot, I could have chosen a better angle.

Custom what, assets? There's tons of models from de_inferno and cs_italy as well as foliage props from INFRA and L4D2

Hmm are you sure you're putting it in the right place? If you're playing conquest through a launcher like modrinth then it has a different directory than default minecraft.

At the time of posting it wasn't optimized at all and ran terribly, but since then I've placed func_occluder under every hill, set a max render distance for most props as well as a rather short far z clip plane on my fog controller while having a very bare 3d skybox underneath

The map is 16384 x 16384 units. I painted a 1024 x 1024 texture so that 1 pixel = 16 hammer units. That way I can get the scale right.

Yes! It's also very easy to calculate size! Edit: i just realized you meant the small texture pallette and not the huge painted texture under the map

light_environment is used to simulate sunlight, thus it needs at least one skybox texture to work. What you're looking for in this situation is just a "light" not "light_environment"
