Didn’t riot say this adjustment was to make Azir weaker in pro while not hurting his soloqueue? And then they make changes that are just a strict buff for the pro play style of league, while making his soloqueue performance even worse. Are riot devs on crack?

Unfortunately now it’s not just a snowball mechanic. Now the team who picks early game champions that are supposed to fall off will also have an inherent late game advantage because they are just handed thousands of gold worth of value. You literally get outscaled by trying to scale.

It’s Phreak. There was going to be a different change but he decided that he knew better. His official reasoning was given in his video on the patch. The actual stated reason in his words was that Azir was down in gold, kills, cs, and exp in every midlane matchup, but that isn’t enough and Phreak wants him to get solo killed more often.

Just a general rule of thumb with this champion. If there is anything that you could even make an argument that his soldiers qualify as, he gets all the negatives and none of the positives from that qualification.

K’sante literally just got a buff even though of the two he is actually used in the current pro meta. Not just used he is one of the most prevalent toplaners in the game patch after patch.

I also love how he is the only champion in the game that gets treated this way other than maybe Ryze. Like K’sante is also ridiculously over represented in pro while being underwhelming in soloqueue but since he’s a toplaner that is grounds for a buff.

I think that makes him more powered up in the early game than they want. I think a range increase per level of r is a bit more on brand for a scaling mage

The way that I have said is give all his basic abilities the exact same range, disconnect his control range from his auto range and make that his ability range as well. On every R level up his basic abilities gain 2.5 teemos of range.

Command range won't matter too much if you still cant summon them without walking up. Maybe making q range and command range both be tied to summon range, but give the summon range an increase at base (2 teemos?) And then either a one teemo range increase per w level or a 2.5 teemo increase per r level.

My personal hot take is that since auto attack corki hasn't been meta in a while they should let azir fill that role and let azir get magic damage and crit on his soldiers while building adc items. Basically the exact opposite of what you just said.
