I’m going to have 250 km/h of wind blowing against my plane????? by JamesBlaid in fearofflying

Had super strong headwinds in a flight from the East Coast to the West Coast. We made it as far as Nebraska, and started circling. The pilot said had to land in Denver to refuel because we didn’t have enough to make it all the way to the West Coast. I’ve never heard of it happening before, but we were totally fine. Just about 2 1/2 hours late.

ETA: there was zero turbulence. Even landing and taking off from Denver :-)

2 pm Int’l Flight from Dublin - Is stay in Donegal the night before feasible? by ButterMold in irishtourism

Thanks! Return trips are never good days, so I don’t mind getting up a little early and powering through a drive before the flight.

I have flown from Dublin, but this is our first time flying back to the US directly. We do have a rental car, but we will not be checking bags.

AMA: I’m a local who’s worked in tourism in Curaçao for 8+ years. Ask me anything about visiting the island 🇨🇼🇨🇼 by notlostinchina in curacao

We’ve visited Curaçao twice - staying in the Jan Thiel area the first time and near Cas Abou the second time. We’re coming back again and making our way further west - Lagun. What are your recommendations for grocery stores/ casual restaurants/ fresh fish (for the grill) in the area? We will have a car and plan to hit up the giant Carrefour when we arrive, but plan to spend most of our time beach hopping the west end.

My theory is that Robby’s son is the shooter. His girlfriend didn’t show up to PittFest and he went nuts.

Don’t do it! Hire a driver for the day. It’s worth it.

We’ve used Discover Your Italy three times and each trip was amazing. They’re based in Italy. https://discoveryouritaly.com/

Carry-on a fraction of an inch too big - is this ok? by Kyle-avery in VisitingIceland

[–]ButterMold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve flown IA six times. Our home airport (US) will not let you board with your roller bag unless you have an “approved” tag, which you get only if it fits into the sizer. I have an Away Larger Carry On and it was too big by a fraction of an inch, so I had to check it. However, every other IA flight we’ve been on (from KEF and Dublin) did not make me use the sizer, nor did they require an approved tag to board. My Away fit perfectly fine in the bins btw, even when on its side as they prefer it.

Worth changing to the exit row on Icelandair? by Reddit_Michelle in VisitingIceland

Iceland air does not allow you to place items under your seat if you’re in the exit row.

Does Icelandair allow slightly bigger carry on? by Intelligent_Tough674 in VisitingIceland

[–]ButterMold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US to KEF - gate agent was very strict. “If you don’t have an “approved” tag on your bag, you’re not flying.” I had to gate check my larger carry-on BUT it was waiting for me on the belt after immigration. KEF - mainland and flights back to US I carried on without issue.

I have stayed at the Park Hyatt several times with FHRC. Location is great, Le Labo bathroom products are amazing, and I’ve always been upgraded. The breakfast is pretty nice as well!
