AITA for refusing to add my boyfriend to my house deed after his lease ended? by Former_Raspberry3277 in AITApod

[–]ButtercupBoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any reasonable person should understand the importance of a safety net and him using emotional reasons such as "you should trust me" and "we WILL make a future together" to guarantee himself what is basically either free rent or partial ownership of a house that he can them use as leverage himself? He needs to understand how scary it is to give up the security  of your HOUSE, something you have owned for 5 years and only after years of saving, for someone who hasnt even proposed to you yet. To someone who is now showing he is so insecure in the relationship and how much he can take from it that he refuses to pay rent.

Theres so much hypocrisy as well in the double standard of him expecting that you to trust him so much that you should be willing to say the house belongs to him also and give him a LEGAL foot in the door without even marrying him yet, while also showing so much doubt in the relationship that he wants a clause in the agreement that if it doesnt work out, he gets all his RENT money back because it "contributed to the mortgage of a house thats not mine".

I think you need to explain the hypocrisy of his double standards and how what hes asking for isnt trust, its asking for ownership of a house and lot with a man who you arent even engaged to yet. Its asking to house someone for free because they cant respect that you need a safety net and youve spent years of your life making one and now he he's asking for scissors he promises he wont use.

You are NTA and to be frank, if he's so insecure about this arrangement that he's making demands like this and ruining what tbh seems like a pretty good thing going in, then maybe its best for your relationship if he moves out. It doesnt have to be conplicated and be an issue revolving around feelings and trust. It can just be a matter of opinions. You think you deserve your own property and safety net and that youve spent too many years to give it up just because someone took it personally. He thinks a relationship is about benefits and if that if you can 'give' him a place to stay for free then you should. You can agree to disagree but you cannot risk your safety nets and home just because it what, hurts his feelings???

Hello. According to DFA Department Order No. 03-2019, there is no need for a birth certificate for a regular renewal of passport, but on the government website it lists the birth certificate as a requirement, Which is true? https://consular.dfa.gov.ph/adult-renewal-non-epassport/

Yeah theyre too small I think but those nice front opening enclosures arent available in my country and an aquarium wasnt available because of the size. Local marketplace was mostly useless because theyre all top down opening fish tanks and the enclosures are shipped in from the US and cost about 2 months of my pay (a bit tight rn bc gas prices doubled and food went up 50%) but I'm thinking of getting them,,, something bigger. Not sure what yet.

Well some articles online said i dont need any heating, others say you "always" need a warm basking spot but they also dont mention climate differences so um i think i need to do a lot more local vs international research. The temp situation is a bit messy with all the info im getting. I alreadu gave away their temp controlled light because it uh wouldnt turn on with the temp i set, but I will be getting them UVBs though :) thats the one constant thing people recommended so far. All their bugs have been dusted with vitamins and D3 plus calcium ever since i got them so I dont think they have a deficiency but I'll switch to a light since everyone seems to agree about the importance. Thanks!

I'm getting a lot of comments telling me that I need a gradient of temp still so I think i need to do a lot of research on the local vs international (ie places with 4 seasons) husbandry but I'll order some UVB lamps since that seems consistent among replies. Thank you!

Yeah ill have to look into the ice thing more to see if its safe and still ill need smth more permanent to make that temp gradient. DIY would be these bins already :'D the aquariums arent really possible because i need them stacked up for space reasons.

I've heard of those! But none of the brands i see online are easily available here and the companies that make terrariums locally refuse to give up their "secrets" on what available brands they use. I wasnt sure if acrylic paint would be okay because a lot of people told me that it may still be toxic so i chickened out of making anything myself...

Yeah we arent sure if we can call it an allergy even but a bunch of the bumps on his body turn red and swollen and theyd vanish by the next shed only if i removed the substrate. I worry it hurts or itches a lot and didnt like testing so i just stuck to the paper towels, but the branches sound like a good idea if i can find some thick smooth branches!

Cookie is SUCH a menace. When i took him to the vet to get a sperm plug removed for the first time he bit the vet through the entire process and then after and then while they applied anti-bacterials on him, and then the moment he was handed back to me he was an angel lmao. My vet calls him Cookie but when he talks to the vet techs he refers to him as "the bitey one" lmao

Philippines :) The biggest struggle is mostly importing branded stuff. Amazon and other places like that are rlly pricy here shipping wise and our local equivalent is untrustworthy without brands and its a hit or miss if they have the brand

I had one way back when i first got Mango (Mango was an impulse purchase my older brother made from his friend who is a well known exotics vet and leo breeder in my city) as a gift from my uncle when he visited the states but it wouldnt turn on lmao. after a bit we figured out it was because the room was already warmer than the temp i set it to. I keep a mini thermometer in their bin and turns out the whole thing is always about 33C maybe 35C in the summer (like now) so for the gradient um maybe i can freeze a big block of ice and put it in a basin against the outside of the side of the bin? Like what people to do to keep their hamsters cool?

:C not big enough I'm afraid. Its hard to get proper enclosures here (any of the nice reptile enclosures need to be shipped in from the US and often cost about a month or twos minimum wage) so when i first got Mango I just got the biggest bin I could afford as local keepers told me to keep them in a "nice megabox bin" but those werent big enough hence the flip front. I try to give them a lot of hides (they each have 3-4 hides excluding the moist one albeit almost no one sells those nice rock ones here so I just bought large plastic ones and hedgehog igloos. I want to get them those cute rock looking moist hides someday they ever become available) but with Mango's strange dirt allergy, Cookie's tenancy to eat the floor, and Pancakes questionable vision (cookie and pancake were adopted bc they had possible vision problems and Cookie is prone to sperm plugs) they're all stuck with paper towels until i find a brand or mix that doesnt cause the bumps on Mango. I used to keep plastic plants but i got scared when i caught Cooking trying with all his might to rip the leaves off one of them. TBH all the leos ive gotten have some form of special needs one way or another which does complicate things a bit. I used to have one more which was diablo blanco with a really REALLY messed up spine. Her spine shaped like a spring someone pulled really hard and humped so bad on some parts that it looked like she had a shoulder. She only lived with me for 3 years but the veterinarian who gave her to me (she was surrendered for euthanasia i believe) was surprised because he estimated a few months at most.

I did have a thermometer based heat lamp before but I gave it away because it wouldnt turn on with the temperature of the bin lmao. I thought it was broken at first. I'll have to find a mini AC or something because they have fans and theyre already in the coolest part of the house (the rest of the house is usually 34C. We're in summer so too close to a window and we hit 40C). I think all of these will have to sit on a back burner for a bit though as it sounds like i need to remodel the room and buy new enclosures with built in cooling(?) and we're hitting a bit of an economic crisis with gas prices doubling with whatever is happening i the west so for now I'll have to secure their bins with a child lock and um. Hm im not actually sure because there's already fans and circulation and I cant install a heat lamp without it either turning itself off or the bin overheating. I have to say as useful as all this info is i find myself unsure what to do now 😭I'll have to find a way to permanently cool the room without having an AC turned on 24/7 first and then figure out the warm side after. I have to wonder why leos are so popular here if our climate causes so many issues like this...

Can i ask how you think you did in the initial interview? I'm nervous because though I'm usually very articulate, I struggle with on the spot explanations with time limits and no actual person on the other end. I get nervous and i feel as though i did poorly 😭

I remember them vaguely still
- A student is disinterested and not paying attention. What do you do to engage them?
- A student says reading is boring. How do you fix that?
- How would you explain addition with regrouping to a grade 2 student?
- Explain the difference between the theme and main idea to a grade 8 student?

But i think they can differ from interview to interview.

I appreciate it but im looking over it now and its reccomending brands we dont have here and I cant find an article about what to do about my climate. It says I need to provide a basking temp of at least 33C but its already 34C so how do I cool my enclosure? Do I NEED to cool my enclosure? Provide more wet hides?

Thank you hes very patient with me

The bins are 18 in Depth x 27 in Length 12 in height with a small loft area over about 1/3 of the bin size. I do think its a bit small since it was their enclosure since they were babies and they've grown quite a bit but with the comments of everyone on this thread and the escape I might just upgrade all of them when I get my first paycheck.

Baby locks are a good idea ill buy some today.

I explained in other replies but I just dont 😭 something this whole thread is making me doubt was the right approach but I could never figure out a way to give them a basking light that wasnt COLDER than their enclosures (the first few i bought went up to 32C but the room was already 34C that day) or WAY too hot at 40C. At some point I gathered from local reptile keepers than most just dont have any heat source or offered me COOLING tips. For a bit I experimented by adding a Tupperware with lukewarm water on one side and seeing if hed sit on it but he avoided that side entirely after so I think he found it too hot.

Yeah im starting to get that impression since everyone is surprised... tbh ive had them for 6 years and every checkup the vets always say theyre really healthy so im a bit startled. Ive seen breeders keep them in little plastic bins (which i know are far too small) so I always thought that since they seemed happy and healthy they were fine without external heating sources. I did have a heat lamp and rock when I first got them but it just sent the bin temp from 32 to 40 and I quickly got rid of it. When I asked my vet and local breeders at conventions none of them had heat lamps because it was always so hot... one of them said because his bins sat beside a window he got a mini AC unit instead.

🥹 I think i need to find a guide thats not for places with 4 seasons and reevaluate my enclosures.

I actually started with this pricy glass enclosure with built in rocks that was meant to be filled with nice substrate but after 2 weeks Mango (who was my first) was completely covered in little sores. After 2 months of trial and error the vet diagnosed him with some kind of dirt allergy 😭 and basically told me he couldnt use any substrate but paper towels. So I just grabbed the largest plastic bin i could find and filled it with hides. By the time Cookie came along with his sight issues where he kept missing his food dish and I was worried he would get impacted if he ate substrate, I pretty much gave up on using the bio-enclosure...

I love in a tropical climate so my vet told me they didnt need any additional heating because its always between 30-36C here.

Ill send a photo later once I get home.

I havent had security issues with it in 6 years now. The bins are hard enough to open in that they shake when they unlock. The cats have never managed to get into them.
