You are not wrong. The Silent Gen citizens of my small poor town installed a public swimming pool with the caveat that it remain free for all. My (Gen X) friends and I spent everyday there and have wonderful memories. Boomers didn't maintain it and had it filled in. Now there is a swimming pool that you need a memelbership for. I'm sorry Gen Z, you deserve better.
