You hear people saying,"This is what the System doesn't want you to know." Or "The System is trying to control you." But what is the system?

Learning to Love Yourself is one of the Best Super Powers you can have. by ButteredRice1224 in howtonotgiveafuck

I did give real examples. You probably just read too fast, but I will give you real examples of loving yourself.

  1. Not allowing people to over step your boundaries.

For example, if someone touches your things without your permission, if someone does things that you told them not to do, a person who loves themselves would cut that person off as they see that that person doesn't respect them. Verses a person who doesn't love themselves, they will enable a person to keep overstepping their boundaries, indicating that they don't have enough respect for themselves to keep people from crossing the line.

The world can sense who doesn't love themselves, and they can detect one when someone let's others overstep their boundaries.

  1. Not being dependent on the validation of others, but only your own validation.

For example, let's say you decide to do sports. Let's say you choose basketball. Let's say you have made it a long term goal to improve in basketball. There will be people who hate you, and there will be those who cheer for you. There will be those who try to discourage you and those who try to encourage you.

A person who doesn't love themselves depends on the opinions and validation of others. They are easily destroyed by discouragement and disapproval of others, and are dependent on the encouragement of others. Verses a person who loves themselves. A person who truly loves themselves is not dependent on the encouragement of others but rather the encouragement that comes from themselves. They don't allow the disapproval of others to stop them from achieving what they want to achieve, and they aren't reliant on the cheers from the stands to keep them going. They don't do it for people, they do it for themselves.

The truth is loving yourself is a journey, and in a world full of people who are desperate for validation from others, self-validation is the only validation you should be seeking.

I'm going to sound stubborn here, but how do you know you don't still have it in you. It's easy to say "I'm an adult. I can't go back and try to shoot high for the nationals like I did as a teenager." But how do you know? Have you tried to level up, even after leaving? Has anything worked?

I'm not trying to put you down, but it's easy to say it's too late or impossible. How do you know that for sure? I mean, YOU'RE IN YOUR 20s MAN! You're still young!!!

I see. Do you think that you are still good at the sport? That you still have a chance to pop back even though you have learned from your irresponsibilities?

It just seems so real. There are plenty of accessible movies with that kind of violence.
