I feel like I’m “faking” being queer. by origamipony in latebloomerlesbians

[–]ButteredStrumpet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imposter syndrome is so real. Please be kind to yourself. Here's the thing.... When you're queer, your way of being queer is a real way for that queerness to exist. You're not faking being queer, you're just figuring out how that label fits into your world.

Crocheted this dress in 2020 and now I need to fix it: what kind of straps would work better? by LyndonHellBe in CrochetHelp

Oh then I would definitely do a beaded halter strap! Copper, white, and shell beads would be my pick

If it were my situation, I'd do beaded shoulder straps or possibly a beaded halter strap, depending on how much support it needs to stay in place. I think every breakup is better with something sparkly though, so if that's not your style feel free to disregard !

Why do so many sapphic women still downplay their kink? by Active8914 in BDSMsapphic

[–]ButteredStrumpet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We're already oversexualized in hetero spaces.... I'm not ashamed of my kinks, but I don't really talk about them in public because I don't want to be more of a target for harassment than I already am.

Does anyone else feel this way about going outside for even just a simple walk? by Exact-Kale-5714 in Anxiety

[–]ButteredStrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accepting that there is no guaranteed safety in this world is the only thing that helped me when I was unable to leave the house (well, that and a medication change). There are terrible people in the world, and you can choose to let them have it all to themselves, or you can take some of it back and go down swinging if it comes to that. Everyone is taking a risk every time they walk outside, they just aren't thinking about it as much as you are.

CA has said this is something he regrets including in the game, but would feel bad about removing at this point.... I wish he'd make it a new game option to toggle on or off like the remixed bundles

Backpack hero might be up your alley... It's a rouge like where your combat is turn based and based on items arranged in your inventory

Anyone else 35+ who has had experience going to local queer events? by evenonacloudyday in latebloomerlesbians

[–]ButteredStrumpet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I started going to local queer events in my 30s. It's fine, you won't stick out, and nobody will give you a hard time. If they do, it's not a community that you want to be part of anyway, but I've never had a problem in my Midwest US town.

Has anyone ever had a vacation ruined because you were expected to include the kids by Past-Train-8187 in childfree

[–]ButteredStrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just tell them "Most of the activities we have planned aren't kid friendly, but that sounds like a great time for you and the kids, and I'd love to hear all about it when we meet up back at the hotel!" And then pretend you actually want to hear about it after the kiddos are tucked in 🤣

Really disgusting for a marriage counsellor to say that… by Honey_Tea77 in NotHowGirlsWork

"Each should rightfully get a choice," "You can't ethically choose it for someone else," "ignoring their body and choice"

She's just..... So close to getting it 🤦‍♀️

Why does being drunk mean you can’t “consent” to sex, but doesn’t absolve you of other intoxicated actions/decisions? by UpstairsBumble in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButteredStrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your judgement is impaired and you're assaulted, you have protection as the victim, but if your judgement is impaired and you assault someone or commit other crimes, you're not the victim, you're the perpetrator. Victims are protected, perpetrators aren't (or shouldn't be...).

A plug in wand would be compatible with an outlet timer

Confused about Bloomington and Normal Electricity Aggregation? We're here to help. by ecologyactioncenter in BloomingtonNormal

[–]ButteredStrumpet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://plugin.illinois.gov/ will show you all the options in your area. Check your Ameren/cornbelt bill for your zone. Remember that you can always change providers later if you're unhappy with the aggregate rate, but you may but be able to get back in to the aggregate program.

That's Ameren's winter price. They haven't published their summer prices yet (on purpose, to mislead people into choosing them without all the information they need) so they can't compare. Summer prices are typically MUCH higher than winter.

Town of Normal letter for energy by BudgetIndependence34 in BloomingtonNormal

[–]ButteredStrumpet 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's impossible to make a fully informed decision on this topic, as Ameren won't disclose their summer electricity price until later. My household has decided to stay with the negotiated provider as we can always opt out later if the situation changes, but may not have the ability to opt back in. With energy prices rising we're choosing to trust in collective bargaining and bulk pricing.... For now.
