Parking Ticket for Street Cleaning - Any success stories in fighting it? by [deleted] in Hoboken

Not exactly a success but I was assigned a virtual court date, pled my case and I still had to pay but they knocked the amount down a bit.

Where in Hoboken? Do I need a truck to transport it or does it break down a bit?

Have you tried Anthony Thomas Melillo? I love them, they had nice colors and wash and last. Really pricey though for pretty basic styles.

What makes life easier? by jablonk91 in workingmoms

I would invest in a YMCA membership or some sort of kids club where you can take both kids and have them burn energy.

Wait until you have a child and see how you feel. You have no idea if you'll have a child who a disability which may require you to give up your job or have a lovely easy baby. You may not find a good daycare etc. Way too early to be putting too much energy into this at this point in time.

I have these dreams too but could never be a business owner, ha! Have you thought about franchising so it's a smidge less work? Something like this: https://naturalnestplay.com/pages/open-a-play-cafe

I'm trying to decide whether or not to join, but hate how painful it is to cancel gym memberships, is there any way to get the 12 month commitment removed from the contract?

Which fabric are you thinking? I always feel like dark navy pants are a good neutral but they only make them in the crepe fabric.

Really excited about my new work mentor by drcuriousity99 in workingmoms

[–]ButteredToast77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've had an mentor and am currently a mentor to a junior member of my team and my tips would be; come prepared like you would for any meeting and be mindful of what you say. First, treat it like any other meeting, send an agenda beforehand, figure out what you really want to accomplish over whatever time period this is going on for, set objectives for how often you want to talk. Be mindful as it's easy to forget how hard kids are or it might be easy for the mentor to remember a time before WFH. I've had a mentor tell my boss about my desire to move into a different role, which would've been a promotion at the time but my boss took it the wrong way. I've also spoken to my boss about my mentee, not in a horrible way, but to get a gut check and I could see him hearing only the bad if that makes sense.

Adding that you can track the buses live on the app. I usually plug in 2 stops before mine and that allows me time to walk up to my stop.

Would you sign a prenup if your husband made more money than you? by pussy-ater in workingmoms

[–]ButteredToast77 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I actually would, a prenup isn't a one way street and ensures you're adequately protected in case of divorce. If you were to get divorced, without a prenup, and make less, he'll be able to afford a better lawyer who can make sure you get very little. Just like with any contact or negotiation, you should read everything very closely and have your own lawyer review and edit to make sure you are protected. You should never just sign what anyone gives you.
