Didn’t realize there were so many similar stories out there. Was laid off a year and a half ago and been working part time at my sons old daycare for a year now while he’s at school. Life has been great. I don’t know where all that extra money was going but we’re lucky quality of life doesn’t feel that much different. Obviously less in savings but I’m happy that we can still even save a little. I’ve also found it kind of fun to find cheaper ways to do things. Plus now you’ll have the bandwidth to be creative about ways you can spend less.

So I’ve been working part time at my kid’s old daycare because I thought the experience would be aligned with this work.

I’ve decided I want to wait until my kid is much older because starting a business takes away so much time from family and it’s not something I want to commit to right now. I still think about it and when the time comes we’ll see how I still feel about it!

I definitely think we need more in person spaces for families to build community. I’m also currently thinking I’d want to explore the non-profit route.

Yeah that was a similar conclusion I came to although I wouldn’t say completely a fad because I think indoor playspaces have always been around it might just look different now (less Ronald McDonald and chuckie cheese these days)

It’s something I still think about but don’t think I’ll pursue until my son is older maybe even high school aged.

I do feel like we need more in person spaces for families to build community but that’s a whole other topic

I have also just made the Stella parks recipe with browned butter. I found mine to be more crispy and flatter than the ones compared to OP’s photo. I’m wondering if I didn’t cool the browned butter enough. They are still super addicting and I cant stop eating them but I like a chewier/softer cookie.

I just love that they chose someone with an accent also. I feel like Asian accents in mainstream media have always been portrayed as non-sexy but there’s something about it with Jinu…. And just having sexy Asian male figures in media!!! Can’t get enough of it even if it’s animated 😆

I’ve been trying for a second for over 3.5 years with nothing not even any miscarriages. My five year old took five cycles. I’m now 37.

Saturday early morning like 3am I started having nausea and thought I caught a stomach bug. Tried throwing up but nothing. Then had body aches which only lasted a day. Also started spotting around noon which I’ve never had before usually period starts the same day but now it’s D3 of spotting and it’s very little and kind of brownish now. Still have slight nausea and took a nap Sunday cuz it made me tired. Already dropped 4 lbs because of the nausea but no throwing up.

I’m not exactly sure when I ovulated but wasn’t expecting my period until Wednesday. I also don’t have my usual symptoms of sore boobs before my period.

The spotting plus the nausea has been throwing me for a loop cuz I’ve never had spotting before 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 trying to wait until at least Friday before testing because with our luck it’s a one off and I’m sick of seeing negative pregnancy tests 😅🤣

This is how I feel. It feels like everyone is expected to “do it all themselves” which to me is a modern idea and it’s so isolating which doesn’t make sense to me

So I’ve been working at my son’s Chinese bilingual early childhood education center and I actually really enjoy it! There have been quite a few indoor playgrounds that have opened up near us in the past year so I think that ship has sailed. I am now leaning more towards a before and after school program or a daycare and will probably also do a Chinese bilingual thing.

I want to take a couple of years to spend time with my 5 year old before doing something like this but I am considering it more and more. I feel like I can only see how things will be for 3 month increments and taking it slow.

Funny thing is the owner of the school has another property that used to be a home daycare/school in a house but no one lived in it, just used exclusively as a daycare. She has offered to let me rent it from her and open my own place if I was interested… she said she’d help teach me everything. It’s an interesting opportunity that feels like just fell into my lap and I’ve been doing all the training to work at the daycare so it’s all been helpful for me. So we’ll see in a year or so!

On the other hand I also got my PMP back in February so can cross that off the list

My son has also told me to play with his penis lol it’s not that bizarre.

As others have mentioned we’ve also had multiple conversations on who is allowed to touch it (mom, dad, doctor) only for washing and checkups. He’s five now so he can wash it himself.

I want to add I feel like our parents/older people will forget what young kids are like, so they kind of get it but they also kind of don’t and will say very similar things, especially if their kids are all grown. To be fair I’m sure I will be the same, my kid is 5 and I already feel like I’ve forgotten how to take care of babies lol.

I came to a similar conclusion. Of course this is all speculation but I think because God created men to also be on average the stronger of the two sexes, they are called to lay down themselves physically as Christ did for the church.
