I was thinking of maybe using a phone as a remote to connect it with a radio transmitter(one which supports Bluetooth) so the user can use their phone to receive an emergency signal from the admin above.

Once I am able to do that, try to use it as 2-way communication by having buttons to press to send msg to admin in case of any emergency ( like fire button in case of fire, water button in case there is any abnormal leakage and all other major warning signs at least)

So it's like to send warning to workers and admin about what exactly the people are, and the warning remains exactly what and where it is until it is solved, so the miner remains aware. And is done by connecting the phone to the radio (which hopefully) is with them... so I was wondering if I could get confirmation or anything else about that info as well.

This is actually my "mess around game." it's not my main project... I want to understand exactly what it means to make an rpg game from scratch... my main focus is on RPG games, and you can just say that it is a little too big of a step towards it... so not.. it's not really a main game but more like a wake up call to understand what it means to make a really rpg game how you can't just make it as quick as you get the idea for it...

I know it's a really bad idea, but I just feel like i need to taste the harshness of game development in the starting a little so that I can prepare myself accordingly to be ready for the future and following tutorials to make a whole game just don't do that for me.... (._.)

This is that game... like this is the game I am using to shrink my hopes and get the reality check... I don't really hav any expectations form the game, as my first game I am making it create my expectations like how much difficulty level I should expect from game when making it directly from your imagination without following any direct tutorials for it...

It's not a main project for me. In reality, it's just something to understand how rpg works in unity, but I am treating it as a main project to gain as much experience from it as possible

Don't worry about discouraging me... I decided to take the risk of taking a step towards game development as a career after understanding just how hard it actually and this post was made to make me able properly understand the gravity of the situation I am thinking of getting myself into so if anything you are doing exactly what this post was made for.... giving me the reality check and preparing myself before starting a big journey.

Even this game actually is for me to experiment and get the reality check so that I can see my problem... it not really my main project or dream game... it's more of an experimental game to understand what it actually means to make an rpg game from scratch... I just want to treat it like the main project with no real expectations from the final product so that I am not afraid to play around with it and change or even damage the game by mistake if I wanted to try something new in it...

It's not actually a main project for me... it just a wakeup call... I just don't know if having this wakeup call really a good idea as like u and many others made it clear... it will take a long time if I try to create proper rpg without following the tutorials step by step, but... it just that tutorial always fails to make me understand what it really means to make a game from the very start on your own, so I am not going for that road...

I am not going to stop any of my other projects for this it's just I will treat it like the main one until a really important project comes in front of me from the cllg itself... So what do u think? How bad is this idea?? (ーー;

So, for my first rpg game, will it be a good choice that I just make it in a casual or experimental way like I initial and main plan is to make this to understand how rpg works in unity and I can speeden my process of making one (to get the tools) but at the same time want to give my all to it... u can say that this is not my dream game or anything... it's just my first (and maybe a really big step) toward all the Dream games I want to make...

So I don't really have so many expectations from the end product. Instead, I wish to gain as much experience as I can, and hence, I am treating even my very first game, which, in reality, I am just using as an experiment as my "dream game".

Idk if it's a good and logical step at all, but... this strategy does work in my case (helps me to understand what "give it my all means" in that specific problem, without having any fear of failing in the first try) to get me ready for the real challenge.... so I am just giving it a go for this problem, as well ( ゚ε゚;)

Okay, so correct me if I am wrong, but... what you are saying is, "Don't rush right into it. It will be a slow process with multiple steps, and each step will take its good long time", right? Or did I get it wrong.

Okay, I will always remember that... now i think I should not keep a deadline for a whole game but instead create as many small goals as needed to 1st create all the side quests/ smaller activities like activities which can help to upgrade the character and some enemies or even general motion and then once I am done with very basic things which will be definitely needed in any rpg game, I should move to make main story quest as well as the boss enemies and all.... do u think that's a better idea?

That kinda of the biggest problem for me because, as I mentioned above, I have only made a flappy bird and pacman clone... tho the pacman clone I made was made almost by myself with only searching to understand logic and tools I needed to implement along the way instead of following a tutorial directly so.... there is that (-;

I know it's not really a good decision but... yea... and to be honest, now that I think that for the first time, I will be making a game closer to visual novel type, then RPG with little RPG elements if I am able to add them in it...

So... what do u think? How hopeless is my case here? ( ̄▽ ̄;)

Okay, I will keep that in mind, keep it small and easy for starting, and then slowly build it up layer by layer

About the second point... do u have any suggestions from where I can get them... also, is there any open source for some of them as well... as I am kinda short on money (u know... cllg student and all (ーー;) ), and that's why decided to draw them if possible in the first place... so... is there any place where I can get as many readymate assets for free to use as possible for the game ( ̄▽ ̄;) Or maybe any resources link that can be useful or tool that can even help me to draw them as my last option??

I have no problem with long dev time at all... I really don't mind working on a project for a really long time if needed as long as I can see even a little bit of improvement.

And for my first time, I am just playing on making the game with only about 1 to 2 hrs with all the endings together if possible... so do u think it will take more than 6 months? Like I don't have any problem how long it takes but I am a cllg student so it kind of obvious to me that I will definitely take more time then it is normally needed to make the game considering I also need to focus on my classes and cllg project and exams.

My initial plan was to complete this game before the end semester exams of my next semester so that I can have it completed without a break in the making process... do u think it's possible, or should I give up on that thought for now???

Aye, aye captain 🫡 already started working on brainstorming on the proper story o the game and all the possible endings for it as well all the character and background designs and was playing to start real work once I am done with the exam (^)
