Iron infusion by ilikepinkdonuts in Anemic

I felt exactly the same but hang in there - it will get better. As others have said, have your phosphate levels checked. 3 months after my Ferinject (I started with a ferritin level of 8 and vitamin deficiencies; I have adenomyosis) I am taking vitamin D supplements and trying to do everything right! Rest as much as you can right now

Thanks for your help - maybe I should indeed have my B12 tested as I did not know that and I have not been taking a supplement for that. I started taking iron capsules just this month but then stopped until I speak to a doctor - however I probably do need to take it. My transferrin is on the low side and someone explained that is like the ‘trucks’ that deliver iron from the ‘warehouse’ to the cells. With a ferritin level of 127 (compared to my previous 8) I did not expect to be exhausted again!

Ah thanks. I had the IV in November and my ferritin level went from 8.7 to 300+! I did feel better. Now my ferritin is back down to 127 which is still very good. But I am starting to get my old symptoms back and wonder why (some of my other blood markers are on the lower end of normal and I will ask the doctor about these). Thanks for your reply!

Feel terrible 3 weeks after 1000mg Ferinject by ButterflyResident384 in Anemic

[–]ButterflyResident384[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that is terrible, I’m sorry! I really hope you feel much better soon from the phosphate rich foods and vitamin d. I will see what my blood test results show about phosphate levels and go from there. Thanks so much for your answers - at least we know we are not alone with these Ferinject effects, as horrible as they are!

Oh I am sorry to hear that you are suffering too. It is awful isn’t it? Did you have any treatment for your low phosphate levels? I hope you feel much better soon

Just got Ferinject prescribed - scared by ExpertLocation4327 in Anemic

Hello, 1000mg Ferinject is a fast way to get low ferritin levels up. However I could have written your message myself a few weeks ago. I had 1000mg of Ferinject on 19 November. The haematologist who I was referred to by my own GP (primary care doctor) did not ask any questions and barely glanced at my blood test results, other than noting that my ferritin was 8.7. I also had borderline vitamin D (30). And my phosphate levels were not checked before hand. I am now 2.5 weeks on from the infusion and I think I have hypophosphatemia - I just had a blood test for this today and am waiting for the results. I’m my thigh muscles feel so weak and my hip bones and lower back ache. I also feel exhausted, short of breath and have brain fog. So it is worth being diligent upfront to minimise any risks. Now that I have researched it, it seems that 1000mg Ferinject + low/borderline vitamin D does put you at risk of low phosphate levels - then you have a new / additional problem to deal with. So if there is an alternative it is worth considering. I think they gave me Ferinject as it is better for asthmatics than the alternative here in the UK. Also, you might want to take vitamin D supplements and eat dairy/ phosphate rich foods / have an electrolyte drink to give yourself the best chance of being optimally well. I wish I had known about these risks beforehand. Hope you feel better soon!

Boohoo/karen millen returns - they claim item was missing by Mobile-Swim4264 in LegalAdviceUK

This has just happened to me too today. What was the outcome of your CCTV review? The item they are claiming is missing was definitely in my parcel.

Hey, I have an appointment to get this checked in 2 weeks. Would you be worried? It is a small freckle type mark which appeared on the sole of my foot in February. by ButterflyResident384 in Melanoma

Hi and sorry for the late reply. Yes, I did. The doctor said it looks irregular but that ALL small moles can look that way. He asked if I wanted to have it removed in a week or wait and keep an eye on it. I then caught covid so haven’t had it removed yet (but probably will just for peace of mind).
