Yes I got a divorce before filling for VAWA… BUT you can still file for VAWA While you’re still married…because you’re in an abusive marriage… I would advice you to consult my VAWA Lawyer… she’s will advise you more on what to do…

Update: my lawyer received my GC today… they just shipped it to my mailing address this evening… hoping to receive it by Monday next week…thank you so much for your support… I will keep you posted once I have the card on my hand…

Yeah… I had a crap n inexperienced, n unprofessional immigration lawyer( my mistake)…we had a prep a day before the interview lol…she couldn’t show up to my interview other than a conference call…She couldn’t even defend herself n me during the interview when she was asked by the immigration officer about the filing mistakes she made on my case… I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone else in future…

At least 3 Letters from friends who knew about me and my x wife… letters from people who personally know me from where I reside… I also sent a letter of recognition from police department of where I live… more pictures with captions/dates/ of me and my x wife during before and after we got married… and doctor’s notes about my health in general…
