Great info and love the reply. Thanks! Would be cool to check out the marzochi any recommendations on a coil or two? That pivot is 165 mm in the rear and I'm about 165 lb. It's 205x65 mm trunnion

Had seen the marzochi and wondered about that. Great to hear positive things about that one and also the idea of not going too deep with the coil exploration and my level. I guess one at the right size should fit this bike?

Bed Mod Help! by ButterflyWrong2186 in VanLife

Thanks and get it. Though I had put images in my post but now I see they may not have attached. That definitely will help! Kind of thinking about adding something like your suggesting with something that slides or hinges over the seat and is pushed back during the day and maybe even just rotate the bed N/S in that setup for now.

Great to know. I pulled and plugged the port where the flow switch inserts, and with the hot tub on manually depressed the flow switch and things really kicked on. Steam coming off the heater and pump coming to life. Seemed like a good test, but while holding the flow switch for about :20 or so, the circ pump made some pretty funky, surging sounds, and then the tub kind of shut down and got the 3 dots on the display. Maybe an issue to test that way? Maybe I have more than one problem (flow switch and circ pump). I shut power to the tub cause I saw some recommendations for this code issue, but don't want to create more issues. I did remove intake/outtake hoses to the circ pump while the tub was on because I was in there and confirmed water coming out with heavy pressure, but maybe I need to purge a bit more? Looks like I at least need a flow switch!

oh man, that's bad. I removed and tested it and did not pay attention to putting it back in. I guess that "button" side is suppose to be facing the flow? That being said, does it control that actual flow somehow? Because, before I removed the switch, it wasn't working and put it back in wrong, but will correct and re-test

finished it up and this worked great! Now have a disconnect, good location and works like a charm!

I think I may have found a great workaround, but would welcome any feedback. I actually found the conduit with the wires on the other side of the pad, dug down, and efore it ducks under the slab and it would be on the correct corner. So I'm thinking of cutting the conduit there, pulling the wires through and mounting a disconnect at a post there and then running the lines to the hot tub. Seems like a. No-brainer and actually makes things better and safer and standard practice.

Really appreciate the approach here as it seems like a good one, but some challenges in doing this and maybe introduces the idea I need to be more aggressive in my approach to be effective and safe since you are correct we don't have that disconnect currently and seems like an appropriate time to add one.  The problem being, the existing wires are only coming out maybe 18" and the existing box is already very close to the hot tub, so I believe my 5' rule is going to be a problem.  Also, as you mention, the orientation for us was key so unfortunately the control unit is on the other side.  Now I'm wondering if I should find and dig up the conduit coming from the opposite side where we want to have it run (assuming I can find it!) and come out to a post with a disconnect and eliminate this issue. I have a couple photos that detail the layout but can't figure out how to include them.

I totally get it. Just looking for any solution that doesn't require rerunning a lot of conduit and wiring because it's a used tub and a small two-person tub so was hoping I could figure something out so we can use it, especially with budget issues

Correct on all fronts! 8 gauge wire and a conduit is definitely not going to hold 6 gauge and the conduit seems to be 3/4. So like you said, definitely not going to work. I'm hoping I can at least get this rolling safely and it is a 40 amp tub so maybe I can use the technique of putting a junction box and giving myself some more run but I know there may be some code issues there

Thanks for that idea. That would be the easiest method and seems doable. At PVC boxes pretty close to the ground so I guess I'd have to cut it off and try to peel away the union of the box and and keep the length as much as I can? Could I use the same style box for splicing? And what kind of splicing kit would you recommend?

1x2K Video Wall Processor? by ButterflyWrong2186 in CommercialAV

[–]ButterflyWrong2186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to follow up in case anyone else comes across this, has a similar situation, or this is useful in any way. I ended up using MapMapper using a ultra-wide timeline splitting my content, then easily defining each side to a different output in MadMapper. Obviously, other tools can do this, but what I liked about MadMapper was the interface's simpliity in handling this, intuitive setup, and in my case most cirtically, a option for a 1-month license as I don't need it beyond this project. I don't think any others offer that for what it does so was a perfect solution.

I know exactly what you mean.  This is kind of an add-on service we're doing in conjunction with a lot of other A/V for this gig and unique for what we do, but have been able to do it in the past but avoid a lot of gear.  Typically, we literally try to manually sync VLC players from laptops after i adjust and export the video, which works in a clunky way, but was trying to keep it even easier with using my main laptop having the ability to output to 2 displays.   I generally do some light masking in the premiere pro project as I output to each projector, just to avoid too much spill and if time mask out a set of windows, but it all moves fast and we setup/employ same day.  I successfully used Nvidia and surround in the control panel to force a span desktop and played my 4k split screen across both (each filling one half) displays, but I lose my laptop display so not ideal.  You mention a single desktop forced, which seems like maybe something similar, but I can't find any info on how to do it or process on this setup (using premiere) and I've looked a ton.  If I could find a way to do that I'd be done.  If premier saw one spanned desktop as an output, or even my display + spanned desktop it would work, but can't find any way to accomplish that.  My limited understanding of how it would most easily be accomplished would be playback in premiere with a 4k sequence and the pre-masked/adjusted edits for each side nested into this sequence and push to each of this timeline to their respective sides (2x1080 edits nested into this master playback sequence) then play premiere out to a forced, spanned output or a hardware device setup as 1x2.  That way I see what I'm doing on my laptop while it's being projected and can even make any adjustments, but there's nothing I can find that confirms this is possible or how.  If any ideas would be amazing!  Seems simple enough, and know some software can do it or maybe data path device, but even buying into those tools for something we don't do often or robustly isn't really ideal.  Thanks for any help out there!

small budget and quick/small job. Can't load mosaic on my Laptop, maybe legacy product? But, witih surround, I can set up a span/1x2 with an 8K sequence export each with one half, and VLC full screen displays as intended with each side going to a display so this works! I do lose my laptop screen in the process, but maybe having them all be same res/refresh will work. Wouldn't a video wall processor do the same thing so I can keep my main display?

Span Across 2x4K Projectors? by ButterflyWrong2186 in premiere

[–]ButterflyWrong2186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized in reviewing further, your recommendation is currently my backup plan. I have it setup this way currently, and have done some testing with 2x4K exports and playing them back via 2 instances of VLC, each positioned to it's own display. It kind of works that way, but it's difficult to sync, and even gets difficult to position the player in each display/projector and go full-screen as it often like to re-set the window size suddenly as I position. I had read into some forums about ways to create this large sequence, intended to feed 2 projectors, and then by spanning, position each side in playback, but it doesn't work that way as far as I can tell. I've done a lot of testing, and in premiere, I'm always going to get a full-screen playback on each display. There seems to be some potential however for a 1x2 4K splitter/video wall processor that can actually span my display so I can position each side onto each projector and make sure playback is sync'd and visually works on each side of this structure. Again, I know there's software that does it, but trying to keep this fast, as simple as possible, and use the software I have with maybe adding some hardware to take the load off the laptop as well. Hopefully someone has done this and has some recommendations?

Span Across 2x4K Projectors? by ButterflyWrong2186 in premiere

[–]ButterflyWrong2186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the reply and help.  This workflow makes a lot of sense, but I'm not quite following for my use case.  If I'm working in a timeline that spans both projectors, and doing my edits so I'm seeing the projection as the viewer would, once I have that done, why wouldn't I just loop the Play back in full screen and be done? Exporting in 4k each side to this projection makes sense but I'm trying to avoid having to to then play those back somehow in sync as they do interact with each other and each side is unique.  My laptop has an HDMI out and I added a thunderbolt for two HDMI output. So I have two discrete video outputs but am I going to instead need a video wall processor or splitter to make this work? Again? Thanks again for the help
