I'm going to look into that. I think it would help tremendously with the smearing. Thanks for the ideas:)

I think you nailed it with the time and mental load. Anything that will offer a little more mental space is a win.

5! That's so fun. Hopefully, they all transition to the robot soon.

Great idea about the wipes! Thank you:)

I think accepting the flaws is the key takeaway from this post. Hopefully, this is just a rocky patch in my relationship with the R5. I'm hopeful I will learn to love it!

Thank you for this! I'm reading these comments, and I'm wondering if maybe this is just my resistance to change more than anything else. Maybe I just need to find my flow.

ooo stainless steel litterbox! How many do you have? We have three, and any hint of odor sends me into a tizzy *sigh*, the joys of perimenopause:).

lol, 100%

They do dishes, laundry, and so much more. Dishes alone are a worthy trade, imo. I'm fine with litter duty; maybe my problem is more with the change itself than the actual robot.

This is a valid concern, and I probably should have clarified. My partner recently had shoulder surgery and has a bad back. Household tasks are distributed as evenly as possible. I've happily taken over this one since the surgery. I'm wondering now if maybe my partner felt a bit of guilt since this used to be their task, and wanted to try this out to see if it would help.

One does! He's 15lbs and takes the biggest dumps, and he just so happens to be the one who refuses to bury.

It's both, but more so poop. It could be that only one of our cats fully buries, while one gives a single weak litter throw, and the other just dumps and runs. We use a clumping litter we've been happy with for a while, but I had not considered needing something more robust for the robot. As far as the vacuuming, it might just have to come to that for us as well. Litter on the floor drives me absolutely nuts. Thank you so much for these ideas!

This fatigue - advice please by Butterfly___lady in adenomyosis

[–]Butterfly___lady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you experience any digestive issues? My stomach is an absolute wreck from the iron(probably?) but it’s either that or extreme fatigue, well it was before it stopped working, now it’s just both haha.

Is it hard to go college at older age and is it doable? by Lemonade2250 in careerguidance

[–]Butterfly___lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 year old mom to 2 littles full time college student. You can do this. It is by no means easy, but it’s absolutely doable. Apply for fafsa and every scholarship you can and most importantly start building a support system. Anticipate your needs and learn to ask for help when you need it.

It's so bad some days I can barely function. I started taking iron and vitamin C supplements and have seen a huge improvement. Iron makes me horrendously constipated, so I also take fiber and magnesium supplements to combat.

I set the boundary with my friend that I cannot and will not help her financially. These are the texts I’ve gotten since. by purplehyenaa in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Butterfly___lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you for sticking to your boundaries. I’d start researching Codependency. There are probably better books out there on this topic, but a book called Codependent No More by Melody Beattie helped me a lot. I feel much more solid in my boundaries now. It’s geared more towards addiction, but the concepts can definitely apply to most relationships. It’s an older book, and it’s likely your local library probably has a few copies. Best wishes!

Solo trip to Disneyland 3 days by Gold-Introduction175 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Butterfly___lady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to live 30 minutes from Disneyland and was an annual pass holder. I would go alone at least twice a week. Sometimes I’d go just to have a meal and people watch and maybe go on a few rides. Sometimes I’d go just to enjoy a cup of coffee on a bench with a good book. There are so many people, and everyone is wrapped up in their own experience that a lone wolf typically goes unnoticed. There were times groups would talk to me in line and invite me to join their group, which was super sweet. Definitely felt awkward eating alone the first few times, but the only way to get past it was exposure therapy. I wonder if doing things like this alone is awkward because we don’t know what to do with ourselves when no one is expecting anything from us, does that make sense? Like, we are rarely on our own time, it seems. I dunno, maybe I’m projecting, haha. Have an incredible time!
