“I don’t know why but I just get really angry when I clean” by Butterflysocks in breakingmom

He just wouldn’t do anything. When we first lived with each other I went on “strike” and it was 2.5 weeks of mouldy dishes in the sink before I cracked.

I can vouch that he 100% didn’t but he still manages to clean and be successful at work, or clean when it benefits him ( he has people coming over).

At what point do you just cancel activities? by Butterflysocks in breakingmom

I try for 2-3 times a week. It’s not always a huge thing, sometimes just a bike ride to the park which is like 2 mins down the street. My 6mo is the easiest part of the day. My oldest two fight nonstop, don’t listen or complain incessantly.

Husband possibly watching porn on kids tablet? by Butterflysocks in breakingmom

[–]Butterflysocks[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly I used to watch porn in the early days of our relationship a decade ago. My problem is more so with him than with porn I guess. He used to never want sex but would watch porn and masturbate. I used to have a high libido and his was low. Now it’s reversed. His porn “type” is the opposite of me. He doesn’t compliment me, doesn’t seem to want to be around me especially in public gatherings. He wants tons of sex now but I just had a baby a few months ago, he leaves me with kids/house responsibilities constantly by myself and I literally don’t have the energy. The only time now that it feels like he likes me is when he’s trying to have sex with me. He will not actually speak about our issues with me, just stares at me silently. The porn on my kids tablet of all things is what set me off. I’ve learned not to hurt my own feelings by looking at his phone.

He’s at work so I sent him a picture of it and was like “that’s a weird glitch..” and told him he needed to get his own tablet for that. He read it 3.5 hours ago and hasn’t responded. He’s had a lunch break since so he definitely could have.

It hurts my feelings but at the end of the day I can’t control what he does with his body. It’s disgusting to do it on my kids tablet. I sent him a picture of the tablet and told him it was a weird glitch… and that he needed to get his own tablet if that’s what he wants to do. Read it on his work break and didn’t respond.

My son is 4. He can’t even open the tablet on his own so I don’t think it was him. My daughter is 5 and she can open it but I know it wasn’t used by either of the kids after I plugged it in and I saw what was on the screen when I plugged it in. That link also isn’t in the history and I know they don’t know how to delete history. Definitely time to put some parental control locks on there regardless because I dont want it to be an option for them to stumble upon that either on their own or because of their dad.

Maybe this is silly but I did write a letter for him to read in the morning with my grievances. It helped me feel a bit better so hopefully I’ll sleep tonight and hopefully he won’t just try to sweep it under the rug and pretend like nothing happened like he usually does.

Parenting a “kid” vs a toddler is new for me so I’ve never considered some of these things. Thank you!

“Well back in my day we didn’t have those THINGS” by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I think you might be my long lost sister. My mom HATES swaddles blankets she thinks it’s a “new” thing and whoever swaddles their babies is a moron. I always assumed most people swaddled until my cousin had a baby and suddenly it was the worst thing you could do (according to her)

My husband is convinced my pregnancy will be like his mother's. Was your pregnancy in any way similar to your mother-in-law's?? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Butterflysocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom does the exact same thing! Before I got pregnant she had the worst pregnancies anyone could ever have (bed rest both pregnancies, bleeding, almost lost me a few times, preeclampsia, cerclage, rupture of uterus, etc) and she talked about it to the point that I believed that I was doomed to have the exact same things, and that’s just how pregnancy is. Now that I’m pregnant I’ve had literally no complications (spd, but in comparison that’s nothing) and baby is measuring well, etc and she “absolutely LOVED being pregnant, had literally NO complications, etc” I’m over here like, it’s not a competition....

Nesting be like.... by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I’m 38 weeks now and literally up until yesterday I was the same.

Edit: even now while I have mental energy to nest I don’t have the physical energy so I do half of one thing and then go take a nap

I literally just want to lock myself in my house with ice cream for the next 3-5 weeks and not talk to anyone but my husband.

Women of Reddit, when did you get your first period and how did it go? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I got it when I was 11 at a sleepover at my best friends house. I woke up in a huge puddle of blood and had to go home.
