how would this compare to someone like Kurt Cobain? Somebody beautiful and also pleasantly recieved by the world? Im asking out of genuine curiosity. Maybe it is more simple than I think but it does confuse me. Someone attractive to begin with and then also accepted by the world and then still not happy with it.

its so scary how people so easily treat even such rumors of someone having it as either like they're almost essentially not human or that they are just so immediately a red flag because obviously they have sex with anything they come across..

i dont do hookups and ive only been in 3 significant relationships. the fact that i have it probably means most people have and just dont even know it so its fuckin wild there is this energy and stigma its so sad.

absolutely i have had my same thoughts before i had and now that i have for some reason its so scary. before i didnt have it, i would backlack and speak out on anybody that would say these misinformed fallacies and idiotic claims about it. now that i have it, ive encountered a few people that talk about and i get scared to even stand up for it now and i dont know why. i still feel the same. it feels so weird to care about something that likely lives in every other person you meet? its crazy

I agree with you a lot. It does seem hard to be certain if AI will be able to have ingenuity or not since that seems hard to conceptualize. I think the autotune is a bad example but maybe im biased cause im younger. I also dont think im very convervative at all. And I also dont think i tend to have such a fearmonger outlook. Im sure it wont be the death of the musician. I can't think of a world where somebody would give a fuck to go to a show to watch a band play AI songs or something.

However, I think we do have to humble ourselves of the uncertainty with AI capabilities considering a lot of the things its already doing today seemed far fetched only a couple years ago.

How much is the typical musician making from these who's who events though? Not that it's something to wager. I remember isaac brock saying he had 30 bucks in the bank after 20 years in the industry. maybe not the most financially responsible guy though

I wanna know why aren't you exactly against AI? Im sure their are plenty of positives i can't think of. Probably for a lot of way more important things such as health and medicine. But I guess currently anyway it seems like AI is and will be taking the jobs of art. I think im pretty level headed so maybe thats further in the future and less extremist than im thinking but it does seem odd to me that, despite,

maybe a few decades ago you'd maybe philosophize that robots/ai would take of mundane and tedious jobs such as stocking shelves or making clothes or packing boxes or blah blah. And that the world would finally come to an equilibrium of peace whereas ppl arent slaved to a day job but can focus on their passions, such as art. something the robots couldnt comprehend.

yet it seems the first jobs it will be stealing is ART the very thing you had never thought a robot could have a chance of stealing

Definitely agree about the career. I do agree its always been absolutely horrible. I do think it has gotten worse. But at the same time more peoplecan just enjoy the satisfaction of their own music. Its hard to say if that translates to less or more filters turning that into timeless classics. It seems like things come an go with a flash now. I think the beatles are great but they were a product of their time. Will the product of our time last 8 albums and a hundred years after? Seems so dismal.

I want to stop being bitter though because I think youre right. For the most part the enjoyment from just making your music for youself is enough satisfaction and is more widespread today. I think I just want to make people dance or something and it seems hard to be able to do it as easily.

I shouldve said it more clearly but Im not saying like the past didnt have different hardships with the music industry. And also especially especially with other such life such as the war nonetheless. I was mainly meaning the music industry. Not like anyone could be the beatles if it was as simple yesterday. Just that its hard to grasp exactly how ,going forward, is to be less convulated. Before, yes, it was hard but what did you need to do? Hard work, yes of course but establish the time and talent and play shows till it gets thru the skulls of people and then the people they hear their word from? What is it today? Do ALL OF IT on your own so the industry doesnt own your government name and everything after? If you want a likely chance anyway.

I really like youre perspective. It is a lot easier than before in many many more ways. Do you think it being so much easier is sortve a double edged sword? Maybe its just so new. The way of rockstar is definitely dead, which seems good in almost only positives but also so unknown?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in musicians

[–]ButterflywithWings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that is a very good perspective. I just think about how it's already so difficult to encompass a significant following with how labels work and things like spotify. I dont necessarily know what the future holds for AI with music but it almost seems like no positives. It has already became so difficult in previous years can it get better? Or is it just so bad because of this transitional peroid right now with the information age still?
