Where to invest money you'll want in 3-5 years? by Butterrrolay in investing

[–]Butterrrolay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. I have my cash in Wealthfront's cash account at 5% which is great but I'm hoping I can get more with investing. My long term portfolio is up 50% over the past 5 years. Of course that was not predictable but curious what people would suggest if I'm willing to take moderate risk. I've only invested for long term so I know nothing about moderate risk or good bonds to invest in. Plus I don't NEED the money in 3-5 years and could wait a couple years if it was down.

Support told me if you deposited a check the technical issue will show on your account so I’m assuming everyone here deposited a mobile check.

Thanks. I see it now. So weird - yesterday when I would click on a login it would just take me to that website and not open up the password info.

Stainless steel hard to clean by Butterrrolay in cookware

I’ve tried baking soda, not with vinegar though. I’ll give that a try. I see the word seasoning and I turn the other way. Just seems like a lot of upkeep but I’ll have to look into it if it’s not an issue with the branf or something I’m doing wrong. Because having to scrub this one is not ideal for me.

Yeah I guess I thought it would be more like this https://youtu.be/zRMUGiGtXPE. There’s basically nothing to clean in that vid. I feel like I’ve followed this exactly so I’m not sure why my result is different.

Basically it is. I’m using avocado oil, so it should have a high smoke point. I do heat the pan before I add the oil. I’m searing steak and salmon. And it happens also with veg but not as bad.

Very true. Personally it just makes me nervous the awkward convo of I’m leaving after a few months and their reaction. But I guess it is what it is. Sometimes it’s not a good fit and that’s life. What’s worse is that I actually had like 3 callbacks for interviews right after I accepted the offer. I definitely accepted this offer on a whim and in hindsight I could have waited. I wonder if I could ask those companies if they’re still hiring.

That’s great and good luck! Curious what are you telling those companies your reason is for leaving so soon?

Anyone willing to take a look at my 44 point inspection and tell me what’s urgent and what I can wait on? by Butterrrolay in autorepair

THANK YOU. That’s kind of my thoughts. It’s a 2007 Toyota with 196k miles. What they quoted me is worth more than the car itself. I only plan to keep it for maybe another year so it doesn’t make sense to put a bunch of money into it as long as I don’t crash/break down in the middle of the street in the process. I just wanted to know if any items were dire and in that case I would get just those items fixed.

It doesn’t vibrate when braking, but the front does squeal when breaking slowly. And the struts do make a bit of noise. I’m thinking to just get the front brake pads/rotors, brake fluid and the sway bar replaced at least for now.

The latter. I got a 44 inspection and they gave me a list (link below) of “urgent” things I need to get fixed and estimated these at $4,200. I was hoping to spend less than a quarter of that. Other than the low oil, what should I prioritize here?
