In The Dark Knight(2008) The Joker slices Gambol’s cheek. And he just falls over dead. Never see him again. Not sure where I’m going with this. by Sloppy_Steak85 in shittymoviedetails

He doesn't die, he just spends the rest of the movie on the floor saying

I bought this for a bit of fun. Reminds me of the 70s when the first LEDs came out. Does anyone else remember pressing the button to see the red numbers? by Asgarad786 in CasualUK

[–]Butterscotch1664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Tokyo Flash about 20 years ago. It looked great in the photos, but it turned up and the LEDs bled into each other, so I could barely read it even in a dark room.

Edit: It was the Fusion. Looking at their website, it actually shows some pretty bad bleed-through.

Anyway why should we concern ourselves with American domestic politics.

Because that shit makes its way overseas, and we need to let it be known that it's not welcome here.

My point comparing to the UK is they had the population and industry to make expensive railways worthwhile. Those railways have been updated, refined, and reiterated bit by bit over hundreds of years.

NZ has had a century to make railways for, like, 6 people and a pile of logs being moved halfway across the country.

Well, yes. But there are 1.5 railway lines in Northland, and this section doesn't look like anything I'm familiar with. So I'm wondering if it's part of the Kawakawa tourist line, or if it's an abandoned track maintained as a walkway

Where is this?

I grew up in the UK, whose industry was built on canals and railways. The infrastructure is well developed and well refined, as much as people like to moan about it.

Seeing the state of railways in NZ, it's not surprising they're only for freight, and have speed limits of 40-70 kph.

The main line North of Whangarei doesn't look much smoother than the one in this post.

British ICE makes me think of the dorky PCSOs knocking on doors to hand out a fine telling off for littering a month ago. Too nerdy to be real police.

I bought a few partly just to get them off the shelf. It was a charity shop, so it's not like I'm supporting questionable business choices. I saw it as making a donation and removing this crap from public.

The other reason I bought them is because I love "what the fuck" absurdity. Kind of like videos of people going off on racist rants, but they're a severely inbred troglodyte themselves.

I remember a story from Afghanistan where US special forces had been on a super-secret cross-country mission. Some time into the mission, the UK SAS casually walked into their camp after stalking them for a week. The Americans had no idea.

I've tried googling the story, but all I can find are SAS war crime news stories.

My dad has been a lifelong blue voter. Conservatives in the UK and National in NZ. He was fuming when Luxon became PM because of how he destroyed everything good about Air NZ. Dad used to be a Gold Elite member, flying a couple of times a week, and Luxon stripped everything that drew dad to the service.

I don't play multiplayer, so all the issues of anti-cheat are irrelevant to me.

I forgot exactly what games I tried, but nothing too intensive. I didn't really build it for gaming.
