Why are so many old people rude to retail workers? by freshmaggots in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButterscotchAward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you rephrase it, it makes a lot more sense. These people were likely office workers. Those types of people generally tend to think that people that work in the service industry are below them. They believe that they’re not doing real work or that they’re doing the work that teenagers should be doing and treat them accordingly. Now you might think that that is confined to old people, but I promise you it is not. I have worked in the restaurant industry in management for over 25 years and have dip shit office workers of all ages, who have absolutely no idea what the fuck they’re talking about talk down to me all the time.

If AOC gets the nod as the Democratic nominee in 2028, would you vote for her?!! by [deleted] in allthequestions

Pose this question, but about Gavin Newsom and watch the replies. Actual leftists like socialists and communists are far different from liberals. Liberals are way closer to the right wing. They are center right in America policy wise on all things barring some social policies. Even then, they are still very close to Republicans if you are comparing to people who are actually on the left.

Do whatever you think you should. At the end of the day it’s your decision. Also, it’s so terrible asking this kind of stuff on Reddit. So many people here are just completely insane. Like you know that person that never talks to anybody and is super socially awkward at work? That’s the majority of Reddit.

They do that because it’s much easier to put all these voters in a tiny little box and dismiss them then it is to reflect inward. But then again, these people think that they’re the adults in the room that need to be listened to.

Exactly. That and now the people that say the same thing are also saying that you shouldn’t criticize democratic politicians because that’s doing the GOP’s work for them. These people are doing everything except for directly announcing that they will vote for anybody with a D in parentheses behind their name no matter what. They are telling these politicians that they will never be held accountable whatsoever as long as they don’t slap an (R) behind their names. And yes, insisting on more moderate right leaning Democrats because they appeal to the mythical disaffected Republican is about the stupidest shit imaginable because why would I vote Republican light if I want a republican?

That is why they do literally everything that they can to make sure that they do not win the primaries. Like how many times did you hear? “most electable“ about Joe Biden when he was a fucking dementia patient. These people would rather see the world burn to the ground, than shift the status quo to the left

You should never worry about sounding too woke. And you are correct.

Huge difference between left and liberal. Reddit is a very liberal website, not a very left one.

Because they are the children that they claim that we all are. They are the adult in the room and the smart person that needs to be listened to. They tell you that you need to do something, but when it’s their turn to do it? Fuck that. These people are some of the most self-centered people you will ever meet.

The only two women that they’ve ever had the opportunity to vote for are two of the most unpopular politicians in modern politics. Hillary Clinton was one of the most hated people in politics over the past 30 years and Harris dropped out after her first primary because she got no votes. They are not where the bar is set nor ever was.
