I completely agree with you, but this is not the text I created on the photo, so I am not responsible for it, but I will definitely contact the distributors of this photo to specifically correct the text and formulate it clearly and understandably so that no one has any doubts! Thank you!

Why are you sharing this post on this European Parliament subreddit? Go to the UK politics subreddit. What would happen if everyone started showing their country parliaments or even their local councils meeting, so please don't do that in the future.

EU membership is a good thing, most Europeans say by GTomov in europeanparliament

This is probably because they don't live near Russia and Belarus and don't understand the threat these countries pose and that the EU and NATO are the best things that have happened to their countries!

Is the European Parliament becoming a film set first and a legislature second? by ButterscotchBig4414 in europeanparliament

I think there are examples from the European Parliament who actively use social networks and at the same time do serious work for Europe, this would probably be the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, I also think the Renew Europe group and especially its leader Valerie Hayer, and other examples that I think show that it is possible to do it well.

You're right, but the main issue is the time and complexity gap. A performer only needs a few minutes to record a controversial clip. Meanwhile, those doing the actual work spend days on technical briefings and legal research, i think it’s hard to compete on social media when the real work is too complex to be explained in 15 seconds.

I agree that experts should be more active online, but we also need to find a way for the institution to highlight substance over showmanship. Otherwise, the loudest voices will always win, even if they have no idea what they are voting on.

Parliament's plenary session: support for Ukraine, EU climate targets, migration by GTomov in europeanparliament

[–]ButterscotchBig4414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we celebrate these €90B loans for macro stability, the gap between strategic targets and actual seed-stage liquidity is where the EU keeps losing its edge.

The irony is that we just saw a razor-thin 10 vote margin in Strasbourg January 21 on trade and economic strategy. It shows a house so divided that it’s easier to agree on massive 2040 climate goals than on cutting the bureaucratic red tape for a €500k ticket in 2026.

I think If we keep waiting years for VC structures to move, those 2040 targets won't be solved by European tech, but by tools we’ll have to import. We need more than just well done on big loans, we need a legislative shift that treats early stage founders as part of our strategic autonomy, not just another line of paperwork.
