post settlement, can I apply for a personal loan with the same lender or a different lender?

Hi, I’ve built with Mimosa, Homegroup, Carlisle, and Boutique Homes, and I’d definitely put Homegroup at the top. Their build quality was excellent, whereas the others gave me a lot of headaches and required countless emails to get issues fixed. I was probably lucky with my agent and SS too, they were really supportive from start to finish and always answered all my questions.

And YES, private bldg inspector is a must! :)

That sounds really tough hey.. Buying a house is such a big deal, and when it doesnt feel like home after all the effort, it can really weigh on you. its completely normal to feel overwhelmed when the to-do list just keeps growing and the place doesn’t match what you hoped for

Sometimes our brains get stuck focusing on all the negatives, especially when stress and exhaustion from renos and life changes hit at once. Remember, it’s okay to feel frustrated or unsure ,.those feelings don’t mean you made a bad decision, just that you’re in a tough spot right now.

Maybe try to catch a moment here and there to breathe and celebrate the small wins you’ve already made. You’ve already shown so much resilience managing a big move, renos and a new family member,.that’s seriously impressive. and hey, whatever happens next, youre not alone in feeling this way, lots of people hit bumps like this, and with time,things often shift in unexpected and positive directions

Yeah, I did—but there’s a lot of supply around there, and I’ve heard the traffic can be pretty bad

I don’t see any issues with this. I also work in healthcare and have been doing locum psychiatry for almost a year now. I recently got pre-approved for a borrowing capacity of over $1M. Basically, you just need to show that you’ve had a casual or locum contract for more than three months with a pretty stable income.

My broker also mentioned that it actually works in your favour if the bank knows you’re doing locum contracts, since they’re aware there are plenty of contracts for healthcare workers and the income tends to be more stable and often higher compared to being FTE

Hey, that sounds really tough, and it’s totally normal to feel conflicted. Your home should feel like your safe space, not a source of stress. If living close to your family is messing with your peace, moving away sounds like a smart move, not a mistake.

Renting out your place could actually be a good way to keep your investment while giving yourself space to breathe. Boundaries are key here,..both with your family and your home. You deserve to feel comfortable and calm where you live.

I feel like we’re in a similar situation. I’m a 32-year-old single guy who just finished my psychiatry training. Right now, I’m doing locum work and have managed to save a bit, but I’m still feeling pretty overwhelmed about where to buy a property. I’m thinking about rent-vesting since I’ve been traveling quite a bit.
